For what it's worth, one of the group in S.D. siphoned gas from a jet ski so they can make the trip. Still don't know if it will be tonight or in the morning. ;D

Because you can no longer siphon gas from a car's gas tank, he had his mechanics drop the gas tanks of about 45 new cars on the lot and drain them so we'd have gas when the stations had no electricity. One of my nephews also did a run up to West Palm and brought back about 50 gas containers in the back of one of his friend's pickup trucks. When his mother found out, she about killed him. One reckless driver and they both could have been blown to kingdom come.

Our whole school district shut down even though only the southern part was effected. (huge school district - Capistrano Unified) We really are spoiled. You forget that the stores can't use their registers, ATM's don't work, gas pumps. Okay, off to find more pillows and pack.

I was driving over to my mother's apartment and was thinking about BM. We could have a camp called "Women of a Certain Age". Of course guys and younger people would be welcome too because inclusiveness is a precept of BM. For an art installation there could be stairs or a mountain or some visual metaphor for reaching a level of freedom and wisdom as a result of a life fully lived. Also as a gift we could have a huge bowl at the top filled with fortune cookies that were specially made and contained say a 10-word lesson learned by real women, for instance us. They could be serious, sad, practical, inspiring, or just plain funny. I wonder how much it would cost to have 5,000 individual message fortune cookies made? When I got to my mother's I was telling her about BM and showed her some photos. She was excited and thought it was a great idea for me to go. I told her the fortune cookie idea and she asked if her friends at the retirement community could contribute, they would love that. Some people have great thoughts in the shower, but I love to let my mind wonder when I am driving. ;D ;D ;D LindaG23, love it when your mind "wonders"! Your "stairs" and the whole idea of BM as reawakening of dreams reminds me of two poems by Langston Hughes (my fav MO poet): Mother to SonWell, son, I'll tell you: Life for me ain't been no crystal stair. It's had tacks in it, And splinters, And boards torn up, And places with no carpet on the floor -- Bare. But all the time I'se been a-climbin' on, And reachin' landin's, And turnin' corners, And sometimes goin' in the dark Where there ain't been no light. So boy, don't you turn back. Don't you set down on the steps 'Cause you finds it's kinder hard. Don't you fall now -- For I'se still goin', honey, I'se still climbin', And life for me ain't been no crystal stair. A Dream DeferredWhat happens to a dream deferred? Does it dry up like a raisin in the sun? Or fester like a sore-- And then run? Does it stink like rotten meat? Or crust and sugar over-- like a syrupy sweet? Maybe it just sags like a heavy load. Or does it explode? Things like BM--or even AFL concerts--are what keep dreams from drying up!

I can't imagine anything worse than dying with your heart full of regret for all the things you could have done and wanted to do but didn't because they seemed frivolous. Once I got the serious business of child rearing out of the way, I did 85% of the outrageous things I had always wanted to do and haven't second guessed one of them, even if some didn't turn out as I had planned. Ya don't know until you try! I love that Adam works and plays with the same dedication.

The choice may have been mistaken, The choosing was not. You have to move on"

Maybe I said it wrong the word "nudity camps"? I think I said it wrong. Don't you have places in the US where the campers are all naked? ??? Back in time to participate in this lively discussion, though only on page 15 or so. Nudist camps are all over the United States and are embraced by all kinds of people. My sister’s in-law family, aunts and uncles, not mom and dad-in-law were really into it. I never saw them in the buff, but after many really funny discussions with them about it, I learned that most camps - their words, not mine-are populated by Roseanne Barr and John Goodman lookalikes as opposed to Adam and Keisha lookalikes. The in-law family fall into the former category and are the first to make jokes about it. They said if you are a peeping Tom, you will probably not come back a second time. This is all hearsay, so please feel free to give other points of view. The real reason I came back online was to discuss Project Runway. I taped the last 3 episodes after never having watched it. It was interesting and fun, but there are 2 contestants who are so obnoxious and self-centered, although in different ways, that I could barely contain myself. Josh is arrogant, bossy, whiny, and pulling a Danny Gokey except it is about his mom who died 2 years ago. The other is Bert, an older man, who also thinks he is infallible. As far as the designing goes, I think one of the 2 weak candidates was sent home tonight. The guest panelist is not given much to do or say, but I think Adam will make the most of it because he is so articulate and opinionated. I may watch the show until the end of this season out of morbid curiosity, but I don’t deal well with diva behavior, so will probably not ever watch again. Maybe a bit off regarding nudity camps, but, since I am always a bit off, I am sharing. Several years ago when we decided to hit the beach some what close to home, we chose Maui. Stayed in Lahaina, taking morning walk on beach and who do I cross paths with......yup, old naked man drinking coffee, looking out at the water and very friendly. Wouldn't have been half bad if he was say........Adam or I am sure someone life lifeguard. No at luck would have it, my nude guy was tall, long gray hair and VERY wrinkly. EVERYTHING had wrinkles, so not close these guys lifeguard I'd be happy to give you my point of view haha! Just look at cayman's video and you'll get a pretty good idea about the nudist camps I used to go. I know that there are nudist camps for older people, but the ones I used to go were full of men and women like these ones. ;D cayman I cannot believe that you found a video from my country.!! This island, Mykonos, in Greece, is the place that I suggested to Adam that he should definitely go sometime. I twitted him about it. It's called the gay paradise in Europe. The best parties and hot boys and girls (not only gay)
