....Adam isn't just selling music, he's selling a feeling. I recently listened to a radio interview from a guy who was pimping his book about the bar/restaurant industry. He had 30 years of experience designing and launching some of the biggest in the U.S. He said exactly that. His contention was that no matter what the industry, the proprietor is selling a feeling, not a product. The emotional reaction evoked by a product is what inspires people to enjoy the initial experience and return for more.
I think the vast majority of Adam fans enjoy listening to him talk as much as sing. That's a rare thing, which means his ability to evoke an emotion is not just about music and his voice, but about his magnetism, thought processes and charisma. Then of course, the fact that his voice is stunningly gorgeous and so is he, just adds layer on top of layer. I'm paraphrasing, but Adam also said in an interview that everything he does on stage is done to evoke some sort of reaction, whatever that may be, and I think that includes feelings. The feelings he brings out in me, particularly when I've seen him live, is what mesmerizes me. It's like I'm in a trance and, for me, it's why I can't wait for the next tour and be in his presence and feel the emotion. In fact, I went to an outdoor concert a week ago by the Houston Symphony, accompanied by a group out of Las Vegas called Poperazzi, and I told a friend later that it made me realize how much I miss hearing Adam sing live. It's like a drug for me. Poperazzi was OK, but they didn't reach me with their performances.

Yes! And WTH does this mean? Grim? Adam grim? When?!!! :-/ What does grim mean? Synonyms 1. harsh, unyielding. 2. frightful, horrible, dire, appalling, horrid, grisly, gruesome, hideous, dreadful. 3. severe, stern, hard. 4. ferocious, ruthless. Adam is the opposite of grim! Evidence below!

Oooooh, thanks Buders ... I need that recipe like I need a hole in the head, but <_< >_> *saves*
I used to have a pumpkin cheesecake recipe that was TO DIE (almost literally). It was a crushed pecan crust and the cheesecake itself had like four eggs, plus an additional four egg yolks, heavy cream, butter, sugar, ofc. Pretty much and instant heart attack but soooo good!!
Those screencaps are GORGEOUS, Gelly.
Crazylady, Yes, Adam has said that everything is mean to evoke a feeling – whether that is joy, pain, sexiness, frustration, anger ... that's part of being an actor and a performer.
One thing that has always amazed me about Adam is his ability to deliver PAYOFF every time with everything – every note nuance, every interview, every performance. When I first downloaded his studio versions of his recordings, it tripped me out how no matter how many times I listened, and no matter how much I was anticipating the way he would finesse something, I would still derive the same level of satisfaction from hearing it.
I would still get the same level of emotional payoff.
I can listen to him sing the "Sleepy dreams" line in "Feeling Good" 829,982 times and never not be blown away by it.
Rarely when you have a very heightened level of expectation, payoff becomes more and more difficult. The bar has been set too high. But Adam manages to nail it every time, as the truly gifted artists do.
