I think you should check your facts in a reliable source about formaldehyde in vaccines. I suggest the FDA &/or the NIH sites:
www.fda.gov/BiologicsBloodVaccines/SafetyAvailability/VaccineSafety/ucm187810.htm
There is more formaldehyde in household cleaning materials & aerosols then in vaccines and those cleaning materials are being inhaled by your kid everyday. Same goes for furniture made from MDF.
As always there is nothing 100% safe but in the case of most vaccines the benefit outweighs the harm significantly.
My qualifications are an MSc in Virology & Microbiology, PhD in Immunology, Cell research, Molecular Biology & I'm a mom
I hope my response helped you a bit.
Yes, and many doctors told me that childhood immunizations were safe. They are, for some children- but not mine.
Children are different, their little bodies and immune systems react to things differently. I don't need to go to the FDA or NIH site. They are the ones who told me vaccinations were safe in the first place. I have to make my decision based on what I know to be right in this indivdual case.
I chose not to risk having my daughter end up like one of these once-healthy young girls:
www.nvic.org/Vaccines-and-Diseases/hpv.aspx
I know that it's a gamble either way, but it is a choice I have to make based on past history. Your choice may be different and that is okay! Be thankful that your children have the opportunities to be immunized from things like meningitis or cervical cancer. I wish my daughter was like that, but she is not.
BTW, I'm not one of those people who refused to get my child immunized. I followed every health recommendation and the childhood immunization schedule to the letter. It is NOW, many years later, that I have decided to refrain from vaccinations- due to past history. My daughter is simply not a good canidate for any type of vaccinations.
For everyone who has concerns regarding Gardasil here is the following link from the FDA so you can make your own educated decision:
www.fda.gov/BiologicsBloodVaccines/SafetyAvailability/VaccineSafety/ucm179549.htm
"Concerns have been raised about reports of deaths occurring in individuals after receiving Gardasil. As of December 31, 2008, 32 deaths had been reported to VAERS. There was not a common pattern to the deaths that would suggest they were caused by the vaccine. In the majority of cases with available autopsy, death certificate and medical records, the cause of death was explained by factors other than the vaccine."
