It's quite the event. On November 8, 2018, the SAG-AFTRA Foundation will celebrate the 3rd Annual Patron of the Artists Awards at the Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts in Beverly Hills, a major fundraiser that benefits the Foundation’s vital assistance and performers programs for SAG-AFTRA artists, as well as its award-winning children’s literacy program. The event will also include several incredible musical performances by award-winning recording artists and will be followed by a catered outdoor after-party. The Patron of the Artists Awards honors two leaders in the entertainment industry — studio heads, producers, directors and others who have played major roles in supporting and nurturing the careers of actors, broadcasters and recording artists to work and thrive. We also honor two performers with the Artists Inspiration Award for utilizing their platforms to champion worthy charitable causes and giving back to the community. Last year’s Patron of the Artists Awards were presented to director, writer, producer Judd Apatow, Academy Award-winning director Kathryn Bigelow, Netflix Chief Content Officer Ted Sarandos. Academy Award®-winning actor and philanthropist Kate Winslet and Grammy Award®-winning artist and philanthropist Lionel Richie were honored with Inspiration Awards. www.youtube.com/watch?v=XkPGBWf8ANQ

@wicked_Musical: Whether by broom or by bubble, get to the Gershwin today at 2PM for a very special #Wicked lottery. Come in costume for your chance to win tickets to our #Wicked15 Anniversary concert! bit.ly/2CAdazz I happen to be in NYC for some business meetings, and my path to the hotel passes by the Marquis. The line of witches, monkeys etc.is very long, and pretty awesome. Of course I have no costume nor ticket, so I won't be in, but I am happy to breathe the same general air as our guy

Lots of good comments here about Adam's solo career and the proposed QAL tour next year. I know it's been said many times, but Adam has a real plum job with Queen. And it will not last all that much longer. He has to make each tour count. QAL has given him so much cred. He might not have even been considered for the Wicked Halloween special or the Elvis special or the Playmobil movie if he didn't have the higher visibility and media exposure from QAL. We are hungry for new music, of course. It will come. And if his next album does well and allows him to tour on it, he will find a way to do it. Brian and Roger respect that fact. And it is logical for QAL to tour next year on the heels of the BR movie which I predict will do very well. I can see how we Adam fans feel some "QAL fatigue." We watch almost every song of every concert date, multiple times. But most concert goers do not do that. Seeing QAL is far more special for them. QAL may plan to hit some new venues that they have missed in the past. We don't know the behind the scenes issues that Adam may be dealing with regarding A4. I'm sure he wants to get new music out there and tour with it. Career-wise, he will spend many more years as a solo artist than he will with Queen. His solo career will take its own course. We will love and support him always, regardless of the size of his concert venues. But he has captured a major career coup with Queen, and every tour counts, bigtime. Hopefully, if this new tour is true Queen has given Adam a permanent percentage stake in Queen current and future proceeds. His solo career will indeed take its own course, that course however; has been impeded by, and is forever tied up by and with Queen. He has earned and deserves more than just a temporary paycheck for doing this. jmo Totally disagree and wouldn’t be surprised if this is the latest picked up by the lurkers. Adam is paid for touring and merch. Queen (the brand) has tons of other revenue completely unrelated to touring that Adam would not or should not be entitled to. They built the brand, they wrote the music, they earn the royalties. For 40+ years Queen has been making money , with or without live touring with Adam (or Paul). And they will continue to do so after the touring ends. John Deacon no doubt watches as this as well. Touring is a totally different entity than legacy earnings and future income. They pay him handsomely for his efforts and only he can say if the sacrifice is worth it. Because he keeps saying yes, I take that to mean he thinks it is. I think fans like to assume things might have worked out differently if there was no QAL, but life gives us no guarantees. Frankly I think it gave him longevity and work in an otherwise fickle profession.

No one knows that QAL stopped Adam from releasing new music. He is no longer with his last label or management and surely that had something to do with the delay. If Adam or his team have not said Queen caused the delay, it is hard to believe that outsiders know anything. The industry/label has a say unless he is going Indie which I hope is not the case. Grateful that Adam has Queen between album releases/solo tours or when he can't release new music for whatever reason. We don't know what we don't know. He is managing things just fine even if I am also desperate for new music. The only thing I find a downer for his run with Queen is that diehards are still pissed the Freddie is not here and Adam is. They really should let that go. It will not change. But ignoring them is the best medicine. That is what Brian, Roger and Adam and Adam's fans manage to do. Adam has a reported net worth of 20M and that includes money he has made from his solo career and frontman duties with Queen. It did not all come from one pot so what is the point of pretending that it did? In the end, it is his career and his career choices. People can enjoy the ride or not. But what we don't have is decision making authority when it comes to his career. Seems he does Queen because he wants to and not instead of or to neglect his solo efforts.

Driving around doing errands I was listening to my pre-Idol Adam playlist. While an Upright Cabaret number was playing I thought how much Adam's world has changed in ten years. From a gig in a supper club with an audience of less than 100, to massive tours in arenas and stadiums. So thrilled for him!
Adam has said many times that he is most at home, most comfortable, most alive when on stage. Combine that with the great music that is Queen and the camaraderie the guys share and I totally understand why Adam continues to perform with Queen. Especially since he doesn't have new material for a solo tour. I do not believe for a minute that Queen is pre-empting his solo work or that he is postponing it in order to continue with Queen.
I say, "Go for it, Adam!"
