Oh my, so sorry to hear about Sauli's dad...I always remember his face when Sauli did the ice dancing competition...he looked so proud.
I hate cancer so much.

Very good interview from Josh. I don't follow him or know much about him but I have enjoyed his talent when I have seen him perform. A lot of solo artists have band members who have been traveling with them for years and are like family. Of course, Josh may be one of the solo artists who does not use a regular band. Tho, even with bands who have been together and friends forever, we hear of problems with depression, drugs/alcohol and insecurities. So my guess is they all handle the pressure of being an entertainer and in the industry differently. When I hear of artists on tour for a year or two at a time it is hard to understand how they handle it. Adam touring with Queen is great but it is also good that he takes needed breaks between his touring with Queen and breaks with his solo touring when he feels the need. I went to the Josh Groban concert in Nashville last night. It was great! Josh did mention that his guitar player has been with him since the beginning, some 20 years! Plus he is touring with Idina Menzel with whom he is good friends and has sung with many times. Of course I could not help comparing with the QAL concerts. QAL has THE BEST sound quality of any concert I have been too. Josh has a wonderful voice!!! But the sound quality at his concert, while good for an arena, was not as good as at a QAL concert. I found it hard to understand the words sometimes, but it was much better than at the Pink concerts I attended last spring. The staging was also not as visually elaborate as a QAL concert, but he did have a full orchestra which was great! Even Idina, who performed for an hour as the warm up act, had 7 musicians, including 2 orchestra string instruments, and 1 background singer/musician. I hope Adam can add more musicians to his next solo tour! I recorded audio for both Josh and Idina. Send me a PM if you would like a copy of the full concert recording, and tell me what format. It's amazing how young Josh was when he started performing with really big name singers. He's been at this a LONG time. Virtually his whole life. I don't "follow" Josh, but he has a GREAT voice and a really good personality. He's one of those who has broken into acting a bit but who can rely solely on his singing career to sustain him forever. There is something to be said for not having to chase the top of the Billboard charts all the time. Josh isn't in the BB top 100 race. Doesn't need to be. He has a massive following. He is not polarizing or controversial at all. I'd love to see Adam get into that position. Their music totally different but they both have massively wonderful voices and winning personalities. I'd love for them to do a duet sometime.

I recorded audio for both Josh and Idina. Send me a PM if you would like a copy of the full concert recording, and tell me what format. Me too. Adam is going to do what he feels is best but a really good and larger backing band (hopefully with some who can back him up vocally) would be different and great. He said he was going with real instruments and some Queen influence this time. He also said we would be surprised with the new work so I think it will be a somewhat different direction. I just want to see and hear more Adam and more Queen when he can fit them in. Some acting gigs and other surprises on the side would be great as well, lol. I'm would love to see Adam add more musicians to his next tour. He might be able to afford it. Depends on the type of music he has on his new album. A little orchestral bit of music along with the rock band might really juice things up. It would be great to see him really burst out with new sounds and a new stage look and feel. WAG was great but it was really a result of pretty tepid sales in the US. Loved his US one-offs and, of course, his tour stops in Asia, etc. They loved him!
