I like the fuchsia (or magenta) suit, shirt, shoes and hair!

I just wish the collar was straight on that blue shirt...... Yeeeessss! He frequently looks a bit rumpled or disheveled. A wonky collar tonight, a smudged jacket a few nights ago, pants or jacket that is wrinkled, a shoe lace untied...he needs an attentive assistant to travel with him. I’m thinking that shirt might be a deep purple rather than blue though. I like the double button collar effect.

I really hope Adam was with Brian and Roger at the premiere. My two cents worth about this debate regarding Adam writing and composing. Adam's gift is his voice. He should surround himself with excellent lyricists and composers. He can share in the writing but he's definitely not a composer. I've always thought he might have been better in a band where those other talents could be shared to create great songs. I think he's written some beautiful lyrics like Broken Open and Aftermath. I think he has written some stupid lyrics like Naked Love and If I Had You. Regardless if he's a solo artist or in a band he should have a much stronger band surrounding him. I think for him to have his dream of being a successful touring and recording solo artist he needs top-notch writers, composers and top notch instrumentalists. He's written some fantastic lyrics that haven't had the composing good enough for the lyrics. Stop chasing the next popular pop producer and find a damn good composer to work with. Adam did not write Naked Love or If I Had You! He has no writing credits on those songs. I like both of these songs. They are just fun pop songs.

Cher has already had a 50 yr career. Barbara Streisand, Toni Bennett, Bette Midler. None wrote their own songs. If you are arguing he's not a better writer because he plays no instrument, possibly. If you are arguing he can't be successful unless he writes, not true. However he doesn't seem interested in just choosing demo songs, so not sure what you are even saying anymore. He's doing it his way, even if that means he's not meeting up to your legend standards. I'm not talking about being successful I'm talking about being a legend. Adam deserves it but somehow he isn't even popular. His lyrics - not so great, but he always is a co-writer so maybe not his fault? Something doesn't work in his case, I'm wondering what. Any ideas? I don't want Adam to become a "legend." I want him to continue to be his living, breathing, challenging self -- and to be happy.
Regarding songwriting, the way music royalties are set up it is now impossible to know who actually wrote music. For example, Elvis has writing credit for songs he did not write. It was done to get royalties. And many, many rock and country songs were stolen from American blues artists and unknown performers (many of Led Zeppelin's songs for example).
Some songs that I know Adam wrote most of the lyrics for are quite good IMO -- Outlaws of Love, Runnin', Voodoo, and Aftermath for example.

I'm not about to compose anything. I had piano lessons as a child. I now sing in a church choir which prides itself on the Anglican "classics". Some are more proficient musicians than others. Yes, there are some semi professionals. But if a non-professional wants to find a starting pitch, the choir director will point to the key set by the organ pedal or so other point of reference. You don't need to have an instrumental background to recognize chord structure. I'm sure Adam can also. And Adam did have some piano lessons when he was young, but did not stick with it. He preferred working on his voice. So I would bet that Adam could pick out a melody and some cords on the piano even if he could not actually play a song. I know I could and it has been 50 years since my 2 years of piano and other music theory training. Very true and he has that guitar lying around the house, he even posted a pic once saying guitar lesson, maybe he learned enough to play basic tunes to help with songwriting.

With Adam's incredible voice, what else could he possibly need.. He is a SINGER, IMHO his vocal instrument is perfection in itself.

Lastly, I'm glad to see his jacket's have become longer. I wonder if the longer hair is about a role? He said not long ago that he wanted to grow his hair longer just to change up his look. No role.

Adam's and Ledisi's duet was the favorite performance of one of the commentators, and one of the faves for the other two.. Very astute comments from the panel. I clicked on the link and got to the site, but where is the panel discussion? Couldn't see anything about it. ???

It's gratifying when people recognize that Adam tempers his oversize vocals skills to benefit the duet thus creating something beautiful. For him it is always about the music
