I finally saw the movie - good thing I knew where to expect Adam, I would’ve NEVER guessed it was him! It’s not just the make up, but the posture and the way he moves was so different!
i also spotted Dr Bri up there in the scaffolding around the Live Aid set (2 dudes sitting on the right side high up). I am now wondering if Roger was sitting next to him, but it was too quick to look at both.
Tbh the first hour was somewhat hard to watch, the dialog and the sequence of scenes were rather simplistic and too chopped up - I agree with the critics on these points. But later I got used to the “flow” (or rather to the lack there of) and ended up enjoying the movie. I am now dying to see the cut scenes, I think it would’ve had a better flow with showing John Deacon join the band, the tour of Japan mention, and whatever else got eliminated.
i am blown away by all the actors! all of them! Top three for me: Rami was consistently superb, Gwilym was almost too much Bri, he even managed to convey Bri’s intellectualism, and Lucy Boynton was a revelation with her warmth throughout... Too bad there was no time to get into anyone’s character, it’s just too big of a subject matter for the 134 mins.
For some reason I expected much more “band performing” scenes, but it was very well balanced. The Live Aid ending was excellent! TSMGO during the credits was also perfect.
I will watch it again once it’s out streaming.

How do you tell Lego from Playmobil? Lego bricks? I looked and hand shapes are a bit diff too. But definitely Lego per this - Wow, 20 animators! "thescarylegodirectorThank you for reposting this! I'm one of the 20 animators, you have no idea how big this is for me."

How do you tell Lego from Playmobil? They really don’t look anything alike. Lego’s are building bricks and pieces, the people and animals are very stylized and have bottoms that will connect to the bricks. Playmobil is more pre-built playsets with people and animals that look more real.

Not every movie is for everyone, but asib did touch many people and it is a very beautiful piece of artistic work. The acting is absolutely great and so is the soundtrack. Just to point it out: Cooper spent 18 month developing his guitar skills, took singing lessons, trained his speaking voice to speak that deep and learned piano. So it's not like he did nothing. "generic country singing drunk" (no attack or offense meant) is downplaying the effort of Cooper. Rami of course gave a performance that will be talked about for a loooong time and probably i would give him the cards over Cooper, but Cooper is very very good as well.
That said i find it total bs to compare the two movies as they are sooooo vastly different.
Also watch out for Steve Carrell and Timothy Chalmet in beautiful boy. Also the support cast in a beautiful boy and borap are both really really awesome.
lastly as pointed out: there are different categories. There is best soundtrack, direction, supporting actor/actress, lead actor/actress, there is breakout. If wanted they could all be honored.
