Even my brother emailed me with a big headline about the Queen movie being a hit and grossing 50 million. I explained that the movie was made for the fans who are mega embracing it and the movie critics just don't get it!š That's interesting because when 95% of the die-hards on Queenzone seemed to hate it. And a bunch of people on Queenonline hating it too. But the people who hated it on Queenzone said that the FB community seemed to love it and from the few comments I have seen, that appears to be the case. A co-worker who is a casual fan took his teenager kids, who also liked Queen. They all liked the movie overall, said his kids now like Queen even more and said his son spent the weekend learning Bohemian Rhapsody on the guitar and piano and watching the Live Aid performance. BTW, co-worker did not recognize Adam even though I told him beforehand he had a cameo. I will probably see it on Thursday. All the die-hard Queen fans I know are not loving it. I think (as someone posted upthread) that if you know a lot about the real Queen and Freddie history, and saw the band at its peak, this movie is more challenging to enjoy. If you are a more casual fan (as the vast majority of Queen fans are), it is a fun movie.
The highlights for me were Dusty, Mike Myers, and the Live Aid scene. I totally missed Brian. But if I had seen him, it would be a highlight for me.
Its doing so well, they do not need any Monday morning quarterbacking from me. But I do wish the early years of the band, and their financial and personal struggles, and battles with the suits were more accurately portrayed. It is a miracle that they survived 1971-1975.

This could have been something that Adam or Freddie would have said: Dan Reynolds @danreynolds āconsistency is the playground of dull mindsā If I remember correctly it is by Oscar Wilde. Another great mind in the community š

Ah...finally....the whole clip. Now maybe somebody can make a DL Ah....I see they have it on their IG account as well. I can DL it from there with dinsta.com 30 seconds, 4 cuts I wasn't even sure it was him till the last cut and I could see those cheekbones. I was totally expecting it during the LiveAid time not then. And no shots together so I wonder if it they were able to keep it a secret from the cast even. I've watched this five times in the past five minutes! That final shot of Adam really looks like him. He's got a little "come hither" in that side glance. He is so sexy, even in this disguise. Can't wait to see it on the big screen. Go Dusty!

He's so damn cute even when he flubs up. He just makes himself even more endearing. He just has that glow.

On the Queen-Online forum is a poll, where the members rate the movie. These are the absolute die-hards voting. And the majority gave it 8-10 of 10 points. 25% even 10/10 (result after 39 votes). I know, some of them have issues with the changes of the timeline and the creative freedom that the movie takes. But most of them do really enjoy the film. link to the poll: discuss.queenonline.com/viewtopic.php?f=12&t=9045And today I will finally be able to go and watch it myself. š
