About Adam changing: of course, he's changed, but that is not a bad thing. We would all like to get a personal thank you note from Adam, but really, let's be real. I always remember something my sister said, from Ann Landers I think, that says, "A gift is not a gift if you expect something in return." We give to Adam's charities to honor him, but also because it makes us feel good. He prods us to do things we should have been doing all along. It's a little ludicrous to me to have hurt feelings over the lack of a spontaneous thank you when many of our own children never send thank you's. In a perfect world, Adam would have no faults. In reality, sorry but I really feel this way, he comes pretty darn close to perfection, but we have to remember that just because so much of our time and attention is focused on him, does not mean he has the time to return the favor all the time.

Bottom line, he didn't put himself up for sainthood and neither should we. He's a man, a hot, kind, smart, silly, talented man, but a man, not Mother Theresa.
