I do sometimes wonder at what stars were aligned to lead me to discovering Adam that night.....do you think perhaps there is some alternate universe where I hit the buttons five minutes later and I am once and for all, irrevocably and madly in love with Danny Gokey...? (aargh..... Runs screaming back to RL!).... What a scary thought. I would be looking for the nearest black hole to dive into. Wow - 888,888 and going up fast. Just a thought but maybe the predictions on the 1 million mark for follwers could be revisited.

He tweets adamlambert LOVING Adele's new album!!! Saaang diva!! 4 minutes ago via Twitter for iPhone Texhnician | Feb 15, 2011 Adele sings her song from her latest album 'Adele 21' as titled 'Someone Like You' live at the O2 Arena in Greenwich, London infront of the thousands of the music industry business and the thousands of audience members. James Corden presents the live show. is she country? she has this "squeezed" sound that I usually hear in country singing.... Would something like this do Ok on US radio? I learned here that a song needs a hook and a catchy melody - none of that in this particular song...she is very pretty! ETA: pjd: you and I were writing the same thing at the same time :D

nica575 - Its funny that you and I both heard "country" - if she is British that makes no sense at all. I didn't find the song at all catchy - I listened to the whole thing, but I don't think I could hum any of it now and I'm not entirely sure I would recognize it if I heard it again. Maybe this isn't typical for her?

Is this video a good example of Adele? Is she just bad at live performances? I didn't like her voice at all in the softer parts and near the beginning it sounded out of tune and parts were very harsh. Is she British? The accent while she is singing sounds more USA Country - I'm confused - I've heard so much good about her in the last couple weeks that I was planning to check her out, but this video sure isn't inspiring me to look further.... Yes she is British.I loved the performance. She has soul.Anyway if you want to look to something else here is the song she won a Grammy for I love all of them And this is her latest single

PJD, try this song--I think it's my favorite of hers... I REALLY like her and think she has a great voice--but I like Jessie J's just as much, and still prefer Adam's if I had to choose. But I don't--I get to enjoy them all! One thing, though, the guy at the end of the Someone Like You vid above said, after her performance, something along the lines of "With a voice like that, you don't need the pyrotechnics, etc., just the voice and a piano"...true, but I LIKE the pyro and the kissing and the sexy fun that Adam gives. I don't want all angst all the time. I don't JUST want the voice. I want the whole package and no one delivers it as well as Adam--just my tastes, IMO, etc. I'm going to enjoy other singers along the way, too, though!

I've been listening to Adele's new album for a few days straight already. You can listen to it for free on AOL's listening party.
I favorited the link on my mobile phone, and with the earphones, just WOW. As I walked the 2 mile trek home I was thinking that I wish Adam's new album would have a few pure vocal and uncluttered tracks like this. I am so glad he has heard it.
