Thanx Zinnia. I guess Sauli and Adam are quite the celebs. I guess size, comparatively, and the number of Fins, proportionately, to the US - they would be a big ticket item and of interest. Poor dad, he is probably exceedingly nervous. . That's right. And there are not so much going on otherwise in the Finnish celeb's world here so there is room in entertainment news for them. Sauli is pretty well known and liked, Adam is well known because of the AI8 and his music and looks. And now even much more known LOL. As to population, there are little less than 5.4 million of us in this whole country .

I have an unpopular opinion and hope you guys can help. I want you to point out flaws in my thought process because I don't want to feel this way. I am feeling unappreciated as A fan. One of the things that has endeared me to Adam is his realness. He is losing that IMO. It started with the creation of ALF. It offered us nothing new outside paid M&G, just quick money. The latest is Charity:Water. Adam's acknowledgement felt like A kid who's mother made him write A thank you note. Lane's follow up on ALF was "Mom" making A better thank you. He went on "The Talk" and seemed to not even know how much was raised or much about the charity. He was briefed (probably by "Mom") for the later interviews. It would have been nice if Adam had made A gesture to donate. Putting the last $10,000 in when the fans had it to $280,000 on his birthday. I was already feeling this when Adam felt the need to scold his fanbase once again. He then tried to make nice after the temper tantrum, felt like "Mom" again. Then yesterday offering A shirt about Charity:Water that is overpriced with only A small portion going to the charity. It felt like taking advantage of the generous nature of the fans. It would have been nice to say we designed this shirt as A memento, all proceeds go to Charity:Water. Look at the the comments - I am not alone on this one. Adam tweeting pictures with celebrities just made that feeling worse. I feel this is happening because the people in Adam's life that have kept him grounded are all benefiting from Adam's success. Can Monte, Allison, Lee and Scarlett hold the diva behavior in place when they are reaping the rewards of being in Adam's circle? Neil can always bring Adam back to reality, but is halfway around the world. This is my first time around as A fangirl and maybe this is natural. I still feel Adam has the most phenomenal voice I have heard in my lifetime, but unless something changes I won't feel the fan investment I once did. I will buy the album, but not actively request on radio, buy CD's to randomly leave where they can be found or barter with my teens to place Adam's music on facebook. I know I am not alone. I feel the core fanbase eroding. I want to have the passion back. I stepped away from fandom for A few days after the spanking this week. I had a travel day yesterday and spent the whole day driving with Adam's music. Still feeling hurt. The vast majority of us have done nothing but support Adam in every way possible. To lump all fans in with the few "Cray" is as bad as others lumping all "gays" together. Adam was no less talented in 2005 than in 2011. The difference is us! ***
Hey guys!! HSM here. At TinaFea's suggestion, I'm telling y'all up front that while this admittedly interesting topic was debated back-and-forth for a while, this particular line of discussion was closed as of page 10 or so. So, while you may be tempted to post on this later in the day, please know now that yer post is gonna go POOF!
Thanks for your understanding! Feel free to read all the discussion up to that point! -Hoppers

Interesting about Sauli's father. "Adam is OK." LOL
Since it's pretty slow right now I hope it's "OK" to bring this partial quote from cassie over from last night.
His stillness in certain performances has always bedazzled and impressed me. This is a perfect example. I know you've all seen this multiple times but it is SO worth watching again as I just did. I love it so much - and he looks so beautiful!

He's human, not perfect, and in the end he is trying to have a viable music career and can't possibly please everyone all the time or else his fans will keep demanding more and more from him and it will never stop. I think one needs to remember he is not "yours" so to speak and as fans we have no claim on him. IMO he's already a hell of a lot more likeable than most pop stars. Your feelings are valid and I am not dismissing them but...all I can say is....entitlement is not sexy. ymmv

I really really really hope that Adam does not fall into the trap of making artistic decisions based on what the crazies might do with it. You are implying here that the whole Tommy interaction was a mistake because of what a few crazy people are twisting it into. If artists worried about that then the majority of the great works of art would never have been created. Believe me that is a slippery slope you do not want Adam going down. Given Adam's largely heterosexual audience and Adam's insistence on being authentically sexual on stage I think he is doing way more positive good for the advancement of gay rights than a lot of other things out there. The positive affects more than outweigh the negatives of a few crazies that are going to find something to be crazy about no matter what he does. I would never trade the value of Adam's visibility for the dubious safety of trying not to trigger the cray cray.
Also if you think the fantasy started with kissing Tommy you slipped in your research. The nutjobs have been there before and will be long after and they don't begin and end with Adam either. They are nutjobs and they don't need and excuse to be cray cray. I also hope you understood from the other day that the majority of "shippers" don't truly believe the stuff and its only the very vocal few who have lost touch with reality.

Yes, I think this opinion will be highly unpopular, but I hope that no pile-on will ensue. I don't feel unappreciated as a fan at all but I have also been feeling a certain distancing of myself of this whole fandom thing. I think Adam - as he himself said - has settled into his role as a STAR. It's big business. I loved his Grammy look but that whole week was about Adam the star and he felt a bit distant to me. Lately, I have been feeling nostaligic about Glamnation. I miss the tour, I miss the glamily and I miss Glamnation Adam. Somehow I feel that was OUR Adam. Of course, I know that he was never ours and this is HIS life. It's just a lingering feeling of loss. It's hard to explain. But I will always be a fan. The level of my involvement might change over time but he has my heart for ever (unless he starts kicking puppies).

Kittykay,
I just had to post and give you a hug. Sensitive souls take everything to heart. Try to keep in mind that Adam is trying to please a large fan base (or keep it in line). In trying to please the masses it will sometimes be something that displeases or even hurts you personally, but think of the Adam that we know he is, giving, kind and thoughtful. Remind yourself that if it were just you and him in the room, he would never say anything cruel, it is just not his nature. Think of it like a large classroom, today he may be giving out Tshirts to the back of the room that you think are tasteless, but tomorrow he will be treating the front of the room with a lovely sexy dance. Everyday he gives us something, somedays it is just not meant for you.
I hope this helps. I do understand, but don't lose faith, the Adam you passionately loved will be back, he is just catering to someone else right now.

(I am not an Adommy shipper and was tweeting hate to no one. I would say that applies to 99.9% of the fanbase) Did no one else here feel A little gouged that the fan club is selling A shirt commemorating the Charity event for a profit?
