All I can say to this is --whataya want from him? He's human, not perfect, and in the end he is trying to have a viable music career and can't possibly please everyone all the time or else his fans will keep demanding more and more from him and it will never stop. I think one needs to remember he is not "yours" so to speak and as fans we have no claim on him. IMO he's already a hell of a lot more likeable than most pop stars. Your feelings are valid and I am not dismissing them but...all I can say is....entitlement is not sexy. ymmv What is entitled about not wanting to be yelled out via twitter? (I am not an Adommy shipper and was tweeting hate to no one. I would say that applies to 99.9% of the fanbase) Well, if you were not one of the crays tweeting nasty shit then you have nothing to be worried/offended over. He simply wasn't talking to you or any of the SANE fans. It's that simple...there really isn't much else to debate. *shrugs* Srsly, just because Adam is tweeting about something it doesn't necessarily mean it's directed at you personally. I dunno wat else to say. *scampers off*

This is the part of your post I can agree with. Besides, it's ugly. I will not buy it. And I am disappointed with ALF. What is Leila doing? Is she still involved? Other than that I really don't feel as you do. Adam's twitter smack down was obviously meant for the crazies and it was deserved.
Adam has to conduct his life and his career as he sees fit. That's about it in a nutshell for me. I don't have time right now to say much more but I don't need to. That says it all for me.

I have an unpopular opinion and hope you guys can help. I want you to point out flaws in my thought process because I don't want to feel this way. I am feeling unappreciated as A fan. One of the things that has endeared me to Adam is his realness. He is losing that IMO. It started with the creation of ALF. It offered us nothing new outside paid M&G, just quick money. The latest is Charity:Water. Adam's acknowledgement felt like A kid who's mother made him write A thank you note. Lane's follow up on ALF was "Mom" making A better thank you. He went on "The Talk" and seemed to not even know how much was raised or much about the charity. He was briefed (probably by "Mom") for the later interviews. It would have been nice if Adam had made A gesture to donate. Putting the last $10,000 in when the fans had it to $280,000 on his birthday. I was already feeling this when Adam felt the need to scold his fanbase once again. He then tried to make nice after the temper tantrum, felt like "Mom" again. Then yesterday offering A shirt about Charity:Water that is overpriced with only A small portion going to the charity. It felt like taking advantage of the generous nature of the fans. It would have been nice to say we designed this shirt as A memento, all proceeds go to Charity:Water. Look at the the comments - I am not alone on this one. Adam tweeting pictures with celebrities just made that feeling worse. I feel this is happening because the people in Adam's life that have kept him grounded are all benefiting from Adam's success. Can Monte, Allison, Lee and Scarlett hold the diva behavior in place when they are reaping the rewards of being in Adam's circle? Neil can always bring Adam back to reality, but is halfway around the world. Adam was no less talented in 2005 than in 2011. The difference is us! kittykay - I think what a lot of us can never understand is how incredibly busy Adam has been and how much his world has changed. There is no way he can keep up with everything that goes on, and no way he can really fathom the amount of time and money his fans have invested in him. I can't address the ALF site, as I never joined, so I don't know what has gone on there. I think part of it was to give fans a better forum than AO. But on the charity:water, I remember that as the donations came rolling in, Adam was busy celebrating his birthday and playing with Sauli, and he was probably very preoccupied with his own PERSONAL LIFE, of which he has rarely been able to concentrate on these past two years. As far as mentioning the amount of $ donated, he may have felt it was not necessary to mention the exact amount during interviews. His public appearances have not been done just to promote the charity:water drive. And Adam did tweet about the charity:water donations several times. The donations were supposed to be in lieu of bd gifts to Adam, why would he donate to this as a birthday present to himself? And do you know for sure that he hasn't donated to it? As far as the T-shirt, nobody knows why his shirts are not "cool" looking, and why they cost so much. Adam has always been very gracious to his fans, has always said how much he loves us, and has always stated that he wouldn't be where he is without his fans. He knows this, talks about it at every opportunity during interviews, and I think he has been very appreciative to the fans. Many entertainers don't give kudos to their fans like Adam does. In Adam's interview with Perez, and a couple others during Grammy week, he said that he is always wanting to give the fans what they want. I think he is very focused on delivering for us, and I hope that doesn't squelch his amazingly creative ideas too much. Adam is starting to settle in to his new life, and doing quite well I think. But Adam is not going to devote ALL OF HIS TIME to responding to fans. If he did, he wouldn't get anything else done. Some of Adam's fans have gone off the deep end in many ways, and his tweet rant a few days ago was in response to those few that were clearly gone overboard. He did tweet that he owes the world to his fans (may not be exact quote here). As far as his friends, although they have benefited from Adam's new found fame, they are not in the limelight like Adam is, and I think they are doing a good job of being Adam's friends. Don't know if this will help with your "unpopular" feelings, but I hope you don't "loose your sense of wonder" about Adam.

One of the things that has endeared me to Adam is his realness. He is losing that IMO. Lately, I have been feeling nostaligic about Glamnation. I miss the tour, I miss the glamily and I miss Glamnation Adam. Somehow I feel that was OUR Adam. Of course, I know that he was never ours and this is HIS life. It's just a lingering feeling of loss. It's hard to explain. But I will always be a fan. The level of my involvement might change over time but he has my heart for ever (unless he starts kicking puppies). I guess I am lucky in a way as I have not experienced the need to be acknowledged or appreciated by Adam. I just feel happy that he exists in a public eye and quite selfishly - I want him to continue be an artist so I can be entertained... I would do anything in my means to support him in that. I am nostalgic too - all the "high" of the nightly concerts, with the sounds, pictures, moves, getting tickets, travelling.... now just RL and waiting...

Can Monte, Allison, Lee and Scarlett hold the diva behavior in place when they are reaping the rewards of being in Adam's circle? Neil can always bring Adam back to reality, but is halfway around the world. This is my first time around as A fangirl and maybe this is natural. I still feel Adam has the most phenomenal voice I have heard in my lifetime, but unless something changes I won't feel the fan investment I once did. I will buy the album, but not actively request on radio, buy CD's to randomly leave where they can be found or barter with my teens to place Adam's music on facebook. I know I am not alone. I feel the core fanbase eroding. I want to have the passion back. I stepped away from fandom for A few days after the spanking this week. I had a travel day yesterday and spent the whole day driving with Adam's music. Still feeling hurt. The vast majority of us have done nothing but support Adam in every way possible. To lump all fans in with the few "Cray" is as bad as others lumping all "gays" together. Adam was no less talented in 2005 than in 2011. The difference is us! There is probably nothing wrong with your thought process because people who have invested something always have a feeling that they should somehow be special to the recipient. Companies reward hardworking employees with incentives and bonuses, because they expect such returns for their efforts. Even churches reward those who contribute and pray with promises of purgatory or a way to make it to heaven to keep the faith burning. But even in these institutions , some recipients still feel that the distribution is not fair. And I think this will always happen ,as each of those who support Adam, be it fan or family, are individuals. Each with varying thoughts and feelings. No one person can manage to please a diversified nation. I believe that the best Adam can do, is to remain true to himself. If he feels tired and grouchy let it be. If he forgets to sweeten the fans with honey words because his mind takes him to a place where great songs are created, so be it. Before social networking, technology and all these were created, the world never knew what Michelangelo was doing…. The world waited to be surprised with his creation. And when it came … so much joy to behold the art.

All I can say to this discussion is that we have a right to have such feelings, and I just don't concur. We invest as much as we want to invest. Adam needs to have a life outside of his career. All other celebrities have this and still maintain their fanbase. Adam is still sweet, humble and giving. All I can say he is a 100 times better than most pop stars and artists. He endures so much ridicule and as a fan, we need to be there for him thru thick and thin. Sometimes, he just can't take what fandom dishes out. He is human and has frailties. I'm sure, under the scrutiny he must now live, he handles this quite well. As he said in the "Out" interview, he's doing the best he fucking can. To me he's marvelous. I would have buckled a long time ago. Let this wear off. Be forgiving and kind as Adam is. Everything passes.
I just wish the cray would go away, and us sane fans enjoy the ride.

Your feelings are valid and I am not dismissing them but...all I can say is....entitlement is not sexy. ymmv THIS and also I dont get this. Why??Doesnt he have the right to some fun as we all do?? I dont know where you see the diva behavior. All i see is the same humble, kind , generous man i always knew. Didnt you see his last tweet???What more do you expect?? ??? I don't feel unappreciated or disconnected. You know, non-touring time is of course different from touring time. Has to be. I don't see any diva behavior and I don't understand why Adam socializing and being photographed with celebrities would make one feel bad. I love seeing him having a good time and networking with others in the business who can understand his sometimes crazy life. I loved seeing him with Saulie and appreciated him sharing the fun - and studly - pics with us. His smile warmed my heart. I love his attempts at the fanclub to connect with fans and learn a bit about us. It was a fun exercise for me. He keeps working on projects and I find that so exciting. Some artists just disappear and hide out between albums. I'm so thankful that Adam doesn't. I have been in a few fandoms, and believe me when I say that Adam stands head and shoulders above any of them with his continuing connections and his expressed appreciations to his fans. He excites all of my senses and I love him. So please don't feel bad. Just luxuriate in all the gloriousness that is our guy, GNAFL. That is all. Ok - a bit more - I cannot imagine being on a tour for six months. I get disoriented from a two-wk vacation. It must be a major jetlag and I think Adam has handled it amazingly well. I am in awe of his adjustment to returning home and jumping right in like the workhorse that he is. He is amazing. Adam is teaching me every day. And I must be goofy cause I love the t-shirt. ;D

Thanx Zinnia. I guess Sauli and Adam are quite the celebs. I guess size, comparatively, and the number of Fins, proportionately, to the US - they would be a big ticket item and of interest. Poor dad, he is probably exceedingly nervous. Babie, insightful as always. I was just thinking as a parent how it would make me feel having my child fall hard for a celebrity and get such public exposure. There would be so many extraneous factors that would have to be dealt with on top of the usual factors involved in a relationship, both if the relationship worked out as well as if it didn't. Sauli and Adam are both familiar with celebrity, so that helps some aspects of the situation, but as a parent, having my child involved with a celebrity wouldn't be my first choice. That being said, I would date Adam, myself, in a second, LOL.

Here is the T shirt for charity. $9 seems too little to me. Does anyone have the Adam tweets being discussed?? I am guessing that they take into account how much the material costs/how much it takes to pay whoever is making the shirts when they determine how much to donate to charity. In a perfect world 100% would be donated, but sometimes that's just not feasible. I'm no expert but to me 9 dollars is pretty good (beter than nothing) when I see some for charity products only donating a few cents on the dollar or whatnot. *shrugs* Like I said, better than nothing and better than some stars who don't do this stuff anyways. I do agree they are ugly though. God, let someone with some design experience or originality or whatever take over the fan merch stuff. I am sure bc he is s busy it's the last thing on his mind, but since merch can be a big $$ maker it would be advantageous for him to get some unique and quality products that people would actually want to pay those high fees for--and not just the fans who will buy anything.
