I too can't wait for "Believe". During Hollywood week on Idol, I remember so well Ryan's reaction when Adam told him he was singing "Believe" by Cher, and then Adam said "no, no, not the disco version!". I was totally blown away by that performance, as were the judges and the other contestants. What we've heard of Adam's Kennedy Honors version with the orchestra is just stunning. So proud of our guy!! On another note, this is a very belated "thank you" to DancyGeorgia for posting that wonderful cat video about Mason a few days ago. As a cat lover, it just melted my heart. In case anyone is interested - Mason is with the wonderful people of tinykittens.com . their livestreams are here: www.youtube.com/user/tinykittenshq

mojo now updated with the US estimate for this weekend: Domestic Total as of Dec. 23, 2018: $184,686,798 (Estimate), however the rest of the world number is as of Dec 18th, with the total of Total Lifetime Grosses Domestic: $184,686,798 28.6% + Foreign: $461,207,569 71.4% = Worldwide: $645,894,367 I think it is highly possible that the up to date total is over $650 Mil or will for sure be there by Xmas. After that it all depends on the nominations I guess... with any Oscar nod the $700 Mil is in sight imo... Quoting myself for continuity... Mojo updated the foreign data up to today and it is quite spectacular! Total Lifetime Grosses Domestic: $184,686,798 27.7% + Foreign: $482,244,779 72.3% = Worldwide: $666,931,577

When I see old pictures of Adam during his "underground" years, it makes me so much more appreciative that he found a way to elevate and change his status. He became a worldwide star with a lucrative and financially secure future. I'm not sure he expected any of that as he performed in those clubs or whatever venues, while hoping to make enough to make ends meet and living in a crummy apartment. Gold/platinum albums/singles in the US and other countries. Headlining solo world tours. Playing arenas and some stadiums worldwide as the Queen frontman. Making the Forbes list of highest earning Idols, while it existed, and even at the top once (only two winners, Carrie and Kelly had ever topped it). Performing at the Kennedy Center. Performing on CMT and impressing everyone. Grammy nomination and winning awards in several countries. Two #3 albums and one #1. Some acting gigs. Covers of too many magazines to even keep up with. Going on Idol opened so many doors for him. Has it been more of a challenge for him, than some others, because of his sexuality? I would say yes. But boy did he take advantage of the opportunities and challenges and fight his way thru any attacks and attempts to deny him. His talent and charisma are so big that he was able to keep standing while taking on hits. And he opened doors for some others who have not had to fight as hard for a seat at the table. Tho, he may not always get the deserved credit from those with changed memories of how difficult it was for him. He has come such a long way from those "underground" years and his fans are fortunate to have been with him every step of the way. Thank you for this beautiful post about Adam .His journey has been inspiring, courageous and amazing .. sitting here in happy tears...

You express yourself with the same thoughts I have and you say it all so well. Thank you! Adam is a joy in my life. He has enriched my life in many ways. A few additional thoughts: Adam is one of the very few openly gay celebrities who actually lives an openly gay life. I know that sounds cliché, but it's true. He has never compromised on keeping his friendships open and honest. He socializes with whomever he pleases. He is comfortable with himself. I really respect that about him. Also, Adam is one of the very few Idol alums who has a strong international fan base. Even without QAL, Adam has managed to keep fans around the world excited and loyal to him. It's really astounding, especially after almost years. I predict that those world-wide fans will strongly support him with his next album. And hopefully he'll treat us all to a solo tour. lurleene, I really like how you put it all in perspective. He had worked hard, knocked down barriers, taken his lumps with poise and dignity and kept on singing. I feel SO lucky to have him in my life.
