Boxing Day wishes to all! So hoping both of Adam's performances are showcased tonight! PLEEEZE!
Could that be Hazel out for an evening cardio walk ...haha..with Pharaoh? LA or San Diego? Adam's not goin' to be runnin' too far in those boots anyway. But what better day to wear red designer boots.

I understand they celebrate Boxing Day in the UK. Where else is it celebrated?

I understand they celebrate Boxing Day in the UK. Where else is it celebrated? Canada as well! Probably all common wealth countries. My understanding from the old customs is it's a day when servants are given the day off and also receive gift boxes of goodies from the people they work for. My family in Canada would also send gift boxes to the military stationed near where we lived. I think it has really lost the true meaning but is still celebrated in some way. Maybe some one else could chime in with what they know.

I'm going to assume that since Adam's performance of Believe is being referred to as the highlight of the Kennedy show, it will be included in the broadcast. Can't imagine that it won't be. And of course the duet with Cyndi Lauper will be included. Can't wait to see it tonight!

Origins start one way as cheriemelissa described above, and was a day given off work for people, but has changed for many with time and cultural changes and enlightenment. Within my family, even as a teen, it was a statuatory family holiday, where we relaxed/skated/ tobagganed ...whatever...with family or friends and enjoyed some peace after a busy festive and religious day celebrating Christmas. Stores were not open, just like Christmas Day. And now, in my mind it is still a bit of that flavour but, more so the words "Boxing Day", align with the connotation of a big bonanaza day for retailers. It is a day to scoop up items on sale ...ie same as the USA big sale day, Black Friday... and all the stresses of return of gifts and crowded stores. Canadian retailers are now marketing both Boxing Day and Black Friday to increase consumer purchasing.

It was definitely a day off to have fun.
