While I wouldn't deny that not all artists are held to the same standards - established artists for instance tend to get the benefit of the doubt - I think in order for a song to become a hit it has to be relatable. WWFM was there and GT has done well streaming wise as well. Were they "masterpieces"? Not for me, but enough people liked the songs. I think it may be a mistake to "overwhelm" the listener, at least that's my thought after the enthusiastic reception of Adam's "Believe". Then again, if there was a foolproof hit formula everybody would be able to write a hit. I think most became massive hits because they got massive radio play on US radio and the streaming took over. And I wasn't just talking about a hit, as Adam has had those. WWFM, IIhY, GT. I was thinking about huge hits that get award show performances and wins. Go to the top of the charts, resulting in even more exposure. We know how it works. And some of these songs that get that are a long way from being relatable or even good. Tho some are great. Exposure to a big audience is no guarantee but tepid exposure will not get you there either. And not sure who decides what is overwhelming to the listener. Like anything else, people relate to different things and presentations. But getting the chance to be heard on a wide scale basis (in the first place) is a good place to start to find out if it is relatable to many or not, imo. I would not expect everyone to automatically respond to what I like. Nor would I automatically dismiss something cause someone else can't relate or has a problem with it. But I agree there is no foolproof hit formula. I agree that there's the undeniable aspect of the business side of things, and that includes some powerful decision makers on who gets the exposure. I have a feeling that Adam is in a good position right now.

Kelly Clarkson's arena tour starts this month. Unless I'm looking at Ticketmaster incorrectly (which is likely, lol), it seems she still has a lot of seats available. But the seats are pretty cheap for an arena tour so maybe they will sell by concert time. I wonder is it better to say you are playing arenas even with cheap selling seats. Or is it more profitable to do 2-5k seat venues with better priced tickets and more sell-outs?

I just clicked on the link. Hmm... not sure if I am projecting or "hoping", but does it look like Adam is in a romantic mood? I know he likes the artist.

I thought, the video with the two trees at sunset was much more romantic 😉 But I don’t think, this tweet has that much to do with it. His friend released that song today. She was in Vegas and stayed in Adams suite. I‘m sure, Adam would support her anyway. In a way, it just sucks, that Javi went almost completely silent, since he came back to LA two days ago. But what did I expect: he never posted much, when Adam and him have both been in LA. He only posted a bit more, when Adam was away. Terrance and his BF only post stories, when they aren’t in Adam’s house. Being curious sucks. 😂

All things being equal, I'd want more people to see the show than less, even if it means lower priced tickets. And casual fans will go to a lower priced show than commit to an expensive one that they are on the fence about. This would especially come in handy for tours that come with a download album to count for album sales.

Then again, we do not know much at all and IF Adam ends up in a steady relationship at some point, he may let us in. About Eden's song... I didn't realize it was a new release, so of course Adam likes to show support.

I thought about that too but didn't know if booking the arena came with big costs that would be hard to cover with cheap tickets. Kelly did not have the tour bundle but Hozier is playing venues in the US about the size of Adam's last US tour, maybe a little smaller. But but he is offering the album cd download with the ticket purchase. People are doing things differently now so I don't think Adam will automatically follow the old way of doing things. I hope not. I wonder if he is still with Philymack. He has been getting some good and high profile placements so someone is doing a fantastic job for him but haven't seen them linked with him in all of this.

Thinking about it too, at least where I am, there's not a lot of choices of venues between large theaters and arenas. So if she can sell enough tickets for even two levels at an arena at a lower price, maybe it makes sense. I did see Kelly at at the same theater Adam was booked for TOH tour (the one cancellation sadly) and she sold really quickly, but that venue only holds 2k.
