I have to tell you, that Susan Boyle cover made me want to listen to music again.BY OTHER SINGERS.
You see I clicked on the link (mistake 1).
I heard the whole song (mistake 2).
Frankly it was what I expected, even maybe a little better, considering she is not trained and she has not studied music. Also I imagine she has no knowledge of pop music and probably she is guided vocaly and musicaly. Anyway I guess she does what she wants, what she can and she has a certain taste in music (she and her audience). There is a place for everyone.
One of the Rolling Stones comments was how impressive and vulnerable was her voice at the word harm.
That is exactly one of the things I didn't like. Feels wrong musicaly to me, out of place.
Then I read the comments (mistake 3)
One of the comments said the word harm is sung just like in the Susanna and the magical orchestra (who???) cover, so I listened to them too (mistake 4).
Result? these 2 covers (and the word harm) are stuck in my brain.
Like Sauli says HEEELP!!!
What to do?
Listened to Depeche Mode original (twice) plus "Personal Jesus".
Nothing.
I need something long, loud with a beat, I thought. Brad Walsh "control me" (love all 8:06 of it).
Nothing.
Miike snow "plastic jungle" ( I will always be grateful to Adam for this. Perfect.)
Nothing.
Classical music. Opera hits

"Vesti la giubba" and "Lucevan le stelle" (twice) with Pavarotti. "Va pensiero" from Nabucco is also helpful in desperate situations like this one.
Better.
More relaxed now I continued with La Lupe "puro teatro" , "un ano de amor" from Almodovar's "high heels"and a Greek song. Finished with "play that funky music", "down the rabbit hole" and "voodoo".
Much much better. Almost normal.
Sorry for the long, not belonging to Adam news post, but I had to share my torture.
