This Youtube convo on the Queen Oscars is off the charts! The first is by GavT and the rest are replies to that post Gav T 7 hours ago (edited) Damn skeptical about Adam at first, didn't enjoy his voice..... went to Q+AL London concert and he made me shut up and sing along with him from Another One Bites The Dust onwards. I guess it's a matter of getting used to his voice and his style, once I got over that, he's actually pretty incredible and I'm thankful to him for giving May and Taylor another chance to perform Queen again .... This comment really jumped out at me.
I now live in the reverse world. I have now gotten so used to hearing Adam singing Queen songs that when I watch BoRhap movie the vocals took a bit of time for me to get used to.

I agree that we should celebrate Adam's successes, and I do all the time! But I also sometimes agree with the "underrated" articles about his lack of radio hits or staying at the top of iTunes or whatever measure there is for artists at the top of their popularity. I feel it's perfectly ok to express that here in this Adam forum, we can celebrate but still wish for that big radio hit for Adam right?!? All viewpoints are welcome I hope! Absolutely!! That’s what’s so great here. I know I feel like I can give my opinion and discuss things others may not agree with or are not interested in but most everyone is open to expressing ourselves freely.

I've enjoyed today's discussion...Adam has worked so hard, and all I can say is...I would never make it in this business.
I'm in awe of the determination and the fortitude of the artists that have decided this is what they want to do with their life.
Huge kudos.

Speaking of Nick Jonas, Jonas Brothers, etc (I know some of you are over them), one of the things that I think is hard for Adam on Spotify is the list of "similar artists) you get when you look at Adam's page. It starts off with all Idols and then there are some others but not many big names. Spotify says it makes suggestions to others based on what individuals listen to and how similar new music is.
As a group could we help Adam if we specifically decide on another artist to also play? Not just adding to our playlist someone who strikes our fancy, but actually deciding as a group to go after somebody like Nick Jonas and seeing if we could change the Spotify algorithm so that he is one of the artists that shows up in Adam's similar list?

I am trying to do this in my own way, I'm not sure if it affects what Spotify will say is "similar" to Adam. I made a playlist with Feel Something plus some other Adam favorites, and then added new music that I've discovered recently and love (I added a new Rob Thomas, Avril Lavigne, a couple of Pink, a Shawn Mendes - a variety of styles) so that I can listen round the clock but have some variety. I think this goes back to my comment that Adam is so versatile and unique at the same time, there is no one like him!

Just returning back to my computer, and first of all thanks for all the praise today. Wow, now I am happy I wrote something, was not so sure I should, this morning, when I started out. Just wanted to comment specifically to didilynn and say that of course we want all opinions to be welcome, and hope I did not sound otherwise. Also, in this case we are not really disagreeing on facts. Obviously Adam has not climbed the charts or reached fame like some others with a tenth of the talent. This is imo more a case of either seeing the glass half full or seeing it half empty. In one case, you complain that the glass is not as full as you feel it should be, and in the other you celebrate that it is half full already. Still wish we had changed the name of the thread though somehow. Anyhoo...will now give FS a few more spins and then continue with some other stuff that needs to get done tonight (RL keeps intervening)

I'm going to keep Spotifying, regardless of how it locates Adam is relation to other singers. It's something tangible that I can do. So I'll just keep doing it.
And just one thought. I've been thinking about Adam's "firsts" in his career. It reminds me that the QAL Oscar performance is one of those landmark "firsts" that he will always be a part of. It's the first time the Oscars opened with a rock band performance. And Adam was the front man who killed it beyond belief. His name will always be part of the Academy Awards legend. His name will always be there. That night in 2019 when history was made at the Oscars.
