When I think of torch singers I think of a shadowy stage, one spotlight on an unbelievably sexy woman dressed in black, and accompanied only by one bass player and maybe drums with brushes, not sticks. Like Peggy Lee and Fever. That may not be what it is, but it's what comes to mind for me. Adam would KILL in this genre.Duh! Had to smile to read this. Angelina has said basically the same thing about Adam doing opera. He could be a huge star. And many have said the same thing about singing Queen songs. That's the amazing thing about Adam. Not only the incredible tone of his voice and the masterful technique, but his ability to deliver authentically in so many different genres. Don't know any other current artist who could.

LOL! jesslala I've always thought it was the tank that was the heinous part of this ensemble. If you're still feeling creative, could you try one with the aqua shorts and different colored tank - maybe black? There's no hope for that shirt. LOL Sorry, couldn't resist that last one. HAHA you're right, it's hopeless! but at least we now have a new, even worse, ensemble to torture surprise Q3 with. :D

I'm not in LA having a hell of a time with Susie Fierce, S*&@^#r, and Company. I'm sitting out a rain delay for the Yankees/Detroit Tigers game. Please send the Universe to Detroit! My boy is part of the team! Go TIGERS!!! momtomany, what do you mean...does your son (one of many, I presume :D) play for the Tigers?? I'll root for anyone to beat the Yankees!

Hi, erie9 (and catz, too!) I've been voting!!! I checked out the other vids, and yours is definitely THE BEST!! (after all I'm in it ) ...lol Hi guys, I'm not posting much at the moment as a RL nightmare of harrassment, intimidation and bullying by a neighbour has been encompassing me. Am a weepy, nervous wreck right now to be honest, so am lurking and berting quietly along with you all and thank TPTB daily for the haven that is Atop. You guise keep me sane! *BIG mwah's to every last one of you* Things got pretty bad this morning and fianlly one of my 'good' neighbours has laid an official complaint with the Police, but we have to wait till Monday for any action. Hopefully, this will resolve the problem, but I am worried about retaliation. Anyways, it's a long story and I don't want to bring any negativity to the board. So, on the upside, just like you gals are going out for drinkie poo's tonight (have a blast btw ladies ), quite a few of the NZGlitterTribe are 'doing' lunch tomorrow thanks to the unceasing efforts of eri9 who works so hard to keep the NZ fandom on a continual berting roll I'm really looking forward to it and being able to give eri9 a RL {{{HUG}}}. Maybe someone *side eyes eri9 * will be able to take a pic and tweet it to here 8-) so you can see us all in our Adam t-shirts. Eri, how many are going - do you have a final count yet? ETA: to add voting link to #NZGlitterTribe vid.... www.classichits.co.nz/Competitions/CompDetails.aspx?id=26118Awww Catz Can't find that huggles emoticon, but will wait to give you one for realz tomorrow! Hopefully it will be a break from the stresses of your RL shit going down... :( Looking forward to seeing everyone - I think there's about 12 of us.

Momtomany,
It doesn't matter what you write about - it is poetry...

That was my top song back in the song contest. I posted a video of her singing Fever when she was in her sixties and it was still as sexy as hell. Gives me hope. For me this is one of the ultimate torch songs.

Someone we all know has already taken 'Someone to Watch Over Me'. There are so, so many more songs Adam could cover - with or without another to 'solo' with him. Cassie - check out my list, and see if you agree. Anything, anything by Harold Arlen. He just happened to write "Somewhere Over the Rainbow". He also wrote "Stormy Weather","Come Rain or Come Shine", "Last Night When We Were Young" and "The Man That Got Away". Glorious songs with lyrics that mean more than most of what I find these days. Check out "You're Nearer". Judy Garland sang it at Carnegie Hall. But, she didn't sing the introduction to the song, by Larry Hart. It goes like this: "Time is a healer but it cannot heal my heart. My mind says I've forgotten you, but then, I feel my heart. Though miles lie between us still your fingers touch my own. You're never far away from me, for you're too much my own . . ." Oh, there is so much 'torch' out there! So many songs. If you are young, you may have never heard them. They will steal your heart and make you cry. I haven't included Cole Porter. That's because it's easy to encapsulate his volume of work. Everything! Listen to "Love For Sale" or "Everytime We Say Goodbye" or a myriad of witty, often sarcastic melodies . . . "Let's Do It" . . . and "Too Darn Hot!" . . . a song meant for Adam Fucking Lambert. . . . written before his parents were born! This reflection reminds me of the incredible expanse of the sound of music. It's reach encompasses generations. We all feel the rain; we all feel the same. If Adam covered any of these he would have us weeping and/or cheering. I wonder if he knows it. "If Love Were All" by Noel Coward "Alone Together" "Do It Again" George Gershwin - - - please, check it out - - someone would say it says too much. "My Funny Valentine" - another by Larry Hart; who was so tormented he left his collaboration with Richard Rodgers - who then partnered with Oscar Hammerstein - and the rest is more current history. Okay. Thanks for getting this far. Music is really such exquisite pleasure and pain. Arlen, Porter, Gershwin...... just yummmmmmmmm. I like your taste. As for "Do It Again", that song can sound soooooo sexy, and tho it refers to kissing in the lyrics directly, we KNOW that ain't what the composer is really talking about. Here is Diana Krall's version --- hot. I can just picture Adam singing this one--- it would be scorching, and probably the accompanying movements/gestures/body stroking would rate as XXX. ETA" Seoulmate: My apologies for using Diana Krall as an example, again. But, it is sexy.

He's one of five. The perfect middle boy. #3. Go Tigers!!!!! My son has been with the Tigers since 2003. Before that he began his career with the SF Giants when they opened the new ballpark in 2000. When he realized he didn't have the skills to be on the field, he found a different way to gnaw and create a place for himself in pro baseball. You won't find him in the lineup. But he is part of what creates that lineup. And, when I tune in to watch a game, I can usually find him on the TV screen. What an honor that is for me! I cannot speak to my pride, because it comes from my boy, and belongs to him. Ah. The game is postponed for tonite . . . so I'll save my angst for Saturday! If I know some of you are with me in this Universe it will add to my very simple wish that joy will follow his dream.
