Woo hoo! I'm glad you all are enjoying my essay! Thank you! That's all any writer wants to know -- that someone read their work and understood it. For the record, (and I don't want this to overshadow the original point) the essay was written before Adam's Galliano tweets, and while it may have some bearing on his ability to overlook Galliano's racism, I wanted to put it out there that I totally disagree with Adam on this issue. Let me know if no one wants to rehash the Galliano issue again and I'll delete my comment. I was very disappointed in Adam's willing to forgive Galliano for his racist remarks in order to wear his favorite suite/clothes. As a grandchild of Holocaust survivors I felt a bit nauseated. Then I started thinking more about this issue and realized that I did the same. I bought drugs made by Bayer (manufacturers of Cyclon B the gas that was used to kill one side of my family in Auschwitz) , I drove a BMW (a company who used Jewish slave workers and was responsible for their death), There are a lot of Mercedes cars in Israel (they built the gas chambers used in Nazi death camps); anyone drove a car made by Ford? another company who's founder was very antisemitic and the list goes on and on.... So I chose to use the "art"/product of a very racist company even murderous company which is much worse then using a non influential one hater's suite.... I don't know about you but I decided that I cannot judge what seemed to me at the beginning a very "spoiled child" like tweet deciding to wear the clothes he liked even though the person who made them is antisemitic and a racist. Also, this tweet opened a very interesting discussion about the subject of where our ethical borders lie....

thanks gelly... I thought it was Erin but I never had it confirmed.
yah I was looking for that vid as well to post but it was taking too long. I assumed Danielle had gone to college as she was surprised Adam was leaving college, back in the day. So I often wondered what she took in college and what she was doing now. I had not realized she was really trying to MAKE IT in the music biz... thought she loved it perhaps as a sideline hobby concept.
I bought her album and her music video was pretty smartly thought out. EDIT: what happened to my AVI!!! Only took me forever to get an avi in the first place. POOH

Juniemoon..loved your essay on Adam ,the artist,Adam the creator not the critic. I so agree with you . I think maybe that's why Adam is able to stay above the fray in regards to Galliano, the designer. Adam loves the creator for his art and that's as far as he will go ... all else goes into another realm.I love Wagner's music,He was an anti-semite.. should I never listen to his Operas because he didn't like my people?I believe his music is now played in Israel. It's a tough one,IMO Adam hates bigotry, but loves ART.. can one divide the two? Adam has found a way.As I have said before,Adam is evolved and sees things from a different perspective isn't that part of the creative process.Embrace the artist comes to mind, without them as Juniemoon says our lives would be colorless. Will Galliano be fonder of the Jewish people if we boycott his clothes and not allow him to express himself? Has the designer learned that he is responsible for his words and pays a price for his cruelty?Adam is proud to have been born a Jewish gay man,Galliano's nasty words don't move him from that pride. So with that security he can move beyond the stupidity of the hateful speak and look at the soul of the artist's creations.Just saying. Forgiveness can change hate into love. I agree. I so appreciate that Adam chose not to exhibit a knee-jerk revengeful reaction to Galliano's words and refused to kick the man while he is down. One reason I feel such love for Adam is that in him I see a beautiful generosity of spirit. A heart open to forgiveness. He has taught me much. melliemom-Your words - "Forgiveness can change hate into love." Beautiful. And true.

Juniemoon,, always looking forward when you post - you are an artist par excellence! Thanks for sharing your art with us.
Rihannsu, loved your post from yesterday. Hey gurl, I will be in Orlando 10/21-10/25 - how far away are you from Orlando? Maybe we can catch a bite sometime?
I was filling out a form yesterday for a health group in Europe for price reimbursement of drugs and came upon this item:
Suggestions for factors which may help promote equality and eliminate unlawful discrimination. These may include issues with the intended use of the technology (including factors relating to assessment, delivery and follow up) amongst e.g. people of different race, disability, religion and sexual orientation.
What does the bolded part have to do with the use of our drug product? Whys should there be issues on the use of drugs amongst these groups? I am so flabbergasted and incensed! We developed our drug to be used for all who are going blind regardless of race, religion, disability or sexual orientation. GAH! Am I over reacting? I don't know what to say!
Rant over - so on to October - yay, beautiful calendar picture and keeping everything crossed - a new single!
Happy Birthday to all October birthdays (since this will be a hellish month for me, I am now covered for all this month's birthdays - LOL).

This girl's name escapes from me now. I just found a myspace blog with a girl named Erin Fleming who seems? to be the Erin you're talking about. It has pictures of her and Adam and Danielle. They seem to be taken during Danielle's birthday (past year, probably during idol? time, it seems so, from Adam's looks) Take a look www.myspace.com/erin_fleming/photos/57698937

Forgiveness can change hate into love. Well, I believe this subject is too interesting and complicated to be talked about only once. Wagner is not exectly played in Israel. They tried once, about 10 years ago, but the responses were so negative, that they didn't try it again. I find it silly, because not only has Wagner been dead for a long time now, so there's no one to "punish", he'd also been dead for decades before the Nazi party decided to use him as "their" composer. But composers that were alive and had significant roles in the Nazi party, like Richard Strauss, if I'm not mistaken, ARE played in Israel. So I suppose Wagner is just a symbol. Now if an artist is alive and is an asshole, I don't feel like making him rich on my expense. If others don't feel like me - I have no issues with them whatsoever. And after the artist is dead and buried, I'll have no problem buying their work, because there's no one to "punish" anymore, no one to boycott. And it's hard for me to believe that if Jewish people bought a lot of an anti Semitic artist's work, he'll change his mind about them. But maybe that's just my un-Christian nature... :
