Actually, he has used it as his avi in the past. twitter.com/#!/adamlambert/status/25407117722 When I click on that I see both of their current avis and bios. But whatevs if he used it at one point before. I still don't think he's going to randomly use a 2.5-year-old picture "because he likes it." He's had thousands of photos taken of him since then and I'm sure he likes them all just peachy too. I'm with Susie on this. Yesterday was hints day, he had hints on his mind. The lyrics hint at music and the avi hints at press.

So, this is not really anything to do with Adam, but I was so incredibly lucky to be at the Sting 60th birthday party concert for Robin Hood last night - a truly amazing experience that I will never forget! Sting was phenomenal and to see/ hear him perform with Springstein, Billy Joel, Stevie Wonder, Rufus Wainwright and a host of others was magical. interestingly, the two highlights for me were Will i Am singing "Walking on the Moon" - I was not so much a fan of his before but he blew me away, and Lady Gaga who was simply AMAZING!!!! Still can't get over her performance. I guess to bring it back to Adam, to see the love and friendship and appreciation of each other that flowed from these artists together on stage was inspiring, and I wish for that for Adam in his life journey. Awww...What a special night this must have been. I like your wish for Adam. It's one reason I hope #2 is huge. He would get to do cool stuff like this and he deserves a seat at the big boy's table. Thanks for sharing.

It is an actual tweet, which would mean the avi would show up with the current one. I'm not convinced though, that his using the avi has anything to do with a new RS photo shoot. I think if there were going to be one, he would wait and use a photo from the new shoot. Maybe he thought that this pic was the peachiest of all. *Shrug*, I hope I'm wrong cause I would love a new shoot with them. When I originally posted, I didn't really even give the whole thing much thought. Yes, I was being shallow and just enjoying an old YT! LindaG23 I absolutely agree that there is plenty of press coming. That's kind of a given with the new album and I was not trying to say otherwise.

Delurking to question Adam's use of RS cover for new Twitter avatar...Could it be a clue? Dare we dream of a NEW AFL cover of RS in the works? Dayum...just when I let my 2-yr subscript lapse after no Adam-ness within its pages since TOO LONG! Need ninjas on this? Glad you de-lurked.

The whole discussion was about hints and teases though (like the lyrics). For him to use a new cover shot would mean it had already been published and the entire world would know about it, so no hint there. Just an avi after the fact. I've long thought the "cold shoulder" from RS was part of its MO to see if Flavors of the Month or One-Hit Wonders morph into legitimate artists. They do give a lot of press to the "Flavors," but in Adam's case, they kind of dropped it after a ton of hoopla and fanfare about him being the year's top seller. Why? Why did they almost exclusively ignore his very successful tour while writing about a very difficult tour season last year? Why did they ignore a religious/political/music/sexuality story such as Adam in Malaysia last year – never even making mention of a story that should be the very definition of the type of things it covers? The only thing I could come up with is that they were waiting to see if he made the leap from amazing talent show competitor to First Out Gay Pop Star to a viable artist on his own merits. Now that more than two years have passed, and Adam has come into his own as a role model, out public figure – not to mention BTM, ETHS, etc. – and there has to be industry buzz about his second offering (just the collaborators alone warrant that), I could see his management being able to pitch a story to coincide with the release of his sophomore album, most definitely.

Could be....but then what explains their coverage of SUSAN FREAKIN BOYLE?? She too is a reality show contestant, and yeah she sold a lot of records--a lot more than Adam unfortunately-- but just because she did does not not make her a legitimate artist. She just sings covers for crissakes! IDK wut the deal is but to me RS has pretty much zero credibility in my eyes. For many reasons.....it would be nice for him to be covered more in there, and maybe he will, but it doesn't bug me that he's not.

Both are excellent examples of the aforementioned Flavors of the Month. Problem with SuBo is that, for whatever reason (inexplicable, monumental sales being the most-likely culprit), they are continuing to keep her on radar. With her, I think it's more of a How in the hell is this still going on??? approach. And they had to know they would get a shit-ton of hits for the "Enjoy the Silence" exclusive, from lovers, ??? haters, Depeche Mode fans and everyone else in between who probably range from mildly intrigued to morbidly curious. ETA: And despite her monumental sales and general pop-culture what-the-fuckery, I don't think SuBo has ever been on the cover, right? A quick google search seems to support that.
