"Follower for hire" usually has fewer than 5 photos and close to no followers while following large numbers of people. If majority of one's followers present like that, it's a dead giveaway.
Maybe but I'd fall into that category and I'm not for hire, I have no followers on instagram and no posts, stories or pictures, I just follow people to keep up with their career and find out what they have coming up. Me too, I opened the instegram for Adam and now I fallow many others that I care about, but I have never posted a single picture ☺ Wanted to add that, like was said here, the only thing I care about is that Adam is happy

I don't watch Javis account that closely to know but i can totally see Javi gaining a few thousand followers, glamberts who are interested...if it happened in lets say 24 to 36 hours ok, it is probably bought and no, that would not not be the best look, but why would anyone who just recently gained a number of followers buy more... Or maybe after a big press release his number jumped? Things definetely jumped last month with less than 1000 likes on posts the first of March and now most posts are getting 4000 likes. I have no problem at all with him getting additional followers especially if it helps water down the glamberts.

Javi seems to have bought himself ig followers. He gained over 8000 followers suddenly and all similar accounts, I must say that I have zero respect for that. Zero. These ”followers” are made in sweatshops in Asia. Don’t shoot me now, but I also don’t like the way he is enjoying his new fame. This is my opinion. That’s all. I'm curious. Do you think Adam is an attention whore as well? Because he bought followers as well in the past on both Twitter and Instagram. Or maybe someone bought it for them and then it's alright? I agree that it's reasonable to assume that Javi gained some followers after he and Adam went public. Plenty of Glamberts would do it, I think. He may have gotten more some other way. It's something that doesn't bother be in the least. Not a priority, at least for me. As for Adam, when you're trying to make your way in show business, part of your job is to get and maintain attention. It's what your success relies on. So if that makes Adam an attention whore, then every celeb is one, too. I don't fault him for any of it. And to me, this whole insane thing with "followers" on Twitter and Instagram, etc. is such a manufactured, artificial measure of "celebrity," it's ridiculous. I'm kind of enjoying this new Adam/Javi love affair. It's sweet and romantic. Just take it for what it is. It's one step on a big, crazy ride.

She says she has no respect for Javi if he's buying followers, but I guess she still loves Adam even though he does the same. According to this site twopcharts.com/adamlambert 54% of Adam's followers on Twitter are fake. That's quite a lot, but definitely no exception in the business. Also explains why his retweets and likes are pretty low compared to his followers. He didn't loose about 200k followers in the Twitter purge last year for nothing.

Double standard, how so? You're implying it has to be all or nothing, black or white? One can easily love Adam and at the same time agree that buying followers is not a good look for anyone? No?

Love and respect are two sides of the same coin. It's hard to love someone you don't respect.
I think Javi is doing fine for a young man thrust into a crazy public relationship.

Sorry, no. That's just a huge, swooping generalization. Being critical of certain things does not automatically equal disrespect.

I'm with MeggyMeg. just because you don't approve of some things a person does, doesn't mean you can't be fond of them for most other things...and lets not get 'like' and 'love' mixed up.
