Brian May wants various artists to front the band for different appearances and he is also looking into artists to do duets with. Lady Gaga is not abandoning her multi-million dollar career to go and front some classic rock band!   |

Sorry, but I don't understand the strong feelings about *all* the songs on Adam's album having to be original. If he wants to include a couple of covers of songs he loves, I don't see any harm. Especially since he has shown that he can make just about any song "his" with his voice and interpretation.  I agree with this. I wouldn't even mind him covering a well-known song because I know from Idol that he would do amazing things with it. I don't want an album full of covers (not until he's well-established as the iconic artist we know he will become!) but geez, I don't see how one cover is going to be a problem. And in this case, it's a cover of a song that is new to 99.9% of anyone who hears the album. I don't know what the big deal about Dreamer being on the album, if it even is, either. I'd pretty much guarantee that it's not the single or even a single. I think it's a beautiful song and would make a great album track. Cam said she wanted a big voice to sing it and I think Adam fits the bill.  |

They said it was a "Pink song that Adam Lambert made famous." I want the next album to be about Adam not Gaga....Pink...Muse... I am sure that a cover would never be released as a single, especially since Adam seems intent on showing his writing abilities. But in amongst all the others songs on an album of 12+, I'm not stressing... |

I guess it has to do with AI grads putting out material that isn't their own and doesn't really reflect who they are...? I'm not sure if covers are viewed in that same way in the larger music world. No idea at all. But when I hear "cover song" I think of a very well-known song that is sung by someone else. I think the situation with Dreamer is that it's an almost completely unknown song sung by a relatively obscure artist. ETA: And I agree with Evergreen that Dreamer would never be released as a single. |
