Welsford developed and produced two albums with Adam Lambert who was the runner up for the 2009 American Idol series. He is the producer of Take One, Adam Lambert's current release with Coldwater Entertainment. Welsford also produced over a dozen un-released tracks which Adam Lambert penned with Guitarist Monte Pittman. How is it that Amazon doesn't check out artist's approval of singles or albums being released on their site??I mean can I tape someone make a cd and put it on Amazon??Or did Adam sign off on session, get paid and has no rights to recorded material.. I think I answered my own question. :-/ This gets me so angry that they are such parasites and take away from Adam's sales of his legit albums.Geez.. How to make the public aware if you're not a fan, although that just might give the bastards publicity and some will buy anything that has Adam's voice on it.. What a crapola situation.. Just venting... sorry

I want to ask again, does anyone know how this guy can get away with this? Don't all parties who WROTE a song have to sign off on it before it can be used like this?

They just now tweeted about it. MTVOMA MTV O Music Awards Guess what #Glamberts? @adamlambert has been nominated for Must Follow Artist on Twitter. Get to voting! ow.ly/6PjGC #MTVOMA 17 minutes ago What's the strategy? Once I voted on the Follow Artist on Twitter, there were no votes left for Fan Army. Are we splitting the votes or concentrating on one category? WHO'S OUR LEADER?

Not an expert, but it depends on whether the songwriter retained any rights to the songs. I guess it would depend on the contract signed at the time. If Adam owns or co-owns the songs, releasing them without his ok would not be legal. Based on what we see happening here, it looks like Adam may have signed his rights to the songs away. But I must admit that doesn't make a lot of sense to me. Why would he have done that? ETA: Duh, he would have done it if he needed money.

This is what Adam said about 'Want' , same thing applies now: "Back in 2005 when I was a struggling artist, I was hired as a studio singer to lend my vocals to tracks written by someone else," he said. "I was broke at the time and this was my chance to make a few bucks, so I jumped at the opportunity to record for my first time in a professional studio. The work I did back then in no way reflects the music I am currently in the studio working on. I'm thrilled to be working with some of today's hottest songwriters and producers and can't wait for people to hear what my music really sounds like."

Maybe at the time Adam thought signing away his rights to the songs might be the only way they would be able to get a chance to be heard to a large audience. But...I have no idea. ETA: Tinafea I just saw your post above mine..thanks for the quote.
