I want to ask again, does anyone know how this guy can get away with this? Don't all parties who WROTE a song have to sign off on it before it can be used like this? Not an expert, but it depends on whether the songwriter retained any rights to the songs. I guess it would depend on the contract signed at the time. If Adam owns or co-owns the songs, releasing them without his ok would not be legal. Based on what we see happening here, it looks like Adam may have signed his rights to the songs away. But I must admit that doesn't make a lot of sense to me. Why would he have done that? ETA: Duh, he would have done it if he needed money. I think he may not have the rights to these recordings, although he retains the rights to the songs themselves (or at least the ones he wrote). So, he can record them again if he ever wants, but he can't control what happens to this version of them. Does that make sense to anyone but me?

This is what Adam said about 'Want' in 2005, same thing applies now: "Back in 2005 when I was a struggling artist, I was hired as a studio singer to lend my vocals to tracks written by someone else," he said. "I was broke at the time and this was my chance to make a few bucks, so I jumped at the opportunity to record for my first time in a professional studio. The work I did back then in no way reflects the music I am currently in the studio working on. I'm thrilled to be working with some of today's hottest songwriters and producers and can't wait for people to hear what my music really sounds like." Okay, but the Beg For Mercy album seems to be the demo stuff, which is the same as the Take One situation. Whereas the Paramount Sessions album seems to be CV songs recorded when Adam was in that band. Different situation, as Adam would never have owned rights to the demo songs, but would have had songwriter copyright to the CV stuff, along with Monte, and any other co-writers.

I think Q3 commented on how they own the recordings not the songs but can release the recordings because it was their studio and equipment. Don't know how this work around works. ETA: What Cookie said.

I was under the opposite impression - that Beg for Mercy is the CV material (Beg for Mercy is an Adam/Monte track), and the Paramount Sessions is the Take One demo material. I can't remember exactly how the Paramount Sessions were described, but it sounded like the songs were soft rock ballads - not like the CV songs at all.

They just now tweeted about it. MTVOMA MTV O Music Awards Guess what #Glamberts? @adamlambert has been nominated for Must Follow Artist on Twitter. Get to voting! ow.ly/6PjGC #MTVOMA 17 minutes ago What's the strategy? Once I voted on the Follow Artist on Twitter, there were no votes left for Fan Army. Are we splitting the votes or concentrating on one category? WHO'S OUR LEADER? Haha, I say Adam is, and he asked us to vote for Fan Army. I think if we split our votes between the two, we have no chance of winning either. So we should put all our effort in one category. But that's just my opinion.

Hmmm....let me fix this: >:( Here's that Welsford character's facebook: www.facebook.com/pages/Malcolm-Welsford/103125316394975"Later career Welsford developed and produced two albums with fucked over Adam Lambert who was the runner up for the 2009 American Idol series. He is the weasly jackass producer of Take One, Adam Lambert's current the bastard release with Coldwater Entertainment. Welsford also dicked over Adam some more by immorally selling produced over a dozen un-released tracks which Adam Lambert penned with Guitarist Monte Pittman. To date, combined sales including 'Take One' Album and Singles exceed 4.2 million units Adam Lambert discography, although Adam didn't see a dime from what Welsford sold without his consent."

YAYYYYYYYYY for album photoshoot (please make his hair look good stylists....) :( for two bastard albums about the AFL thing, I think it's similar to the situation with AO and there have been threads/wank on both sites about it, basically new info, possible site changes, packages, etc. seems to be on hold/not getting approved with the changeover in management to DMG. This thread on AFL has this comment from a mod that explains: adamlambertfans.com/forum/ask_the_staff/315521/page/1Re: SITE RELAUNCH??? Wed, Oct 5, 2011 at 1:27 PM By: Kim Moderator kate's ankh wrote: ~~~ I think with the change to new management, everything has been pushed back. I'm sure once everything is ironed out with the new management team, we'll see the changes and our membership packages... @kate's ankh is right about about the new management. I know that's the reason for the delay with the membership packages, and possibly other things as well. GC had forwarded what they came up with for the new packages to Lane for Adam's approval, then the announcement was made about DMG and Adam and Lane parted ways. Last I heard, GC has not been given a contact person at DMG. I can believe this to be true, because I spoke to Tim at Pennyroyal on Friday and he said basically the same thing. He was in the process of working on a new project with Adam, and now it's on hold because he hasn't been able to contact anyone at DMG. While we're all thinking - How hard can it be? How long could it possibly take? - Tim said he's been through similar situations before and it is very complex and can take a while. So in the meantime, we all have to sit here and wait. :( I'm not going to ask you to be patient, but rather "hang in there". there have been similar mod comments on AO and another thread at AFL indicating a delay in getting approval, finding out info (like who is handling the charity:water pics now) but asking people to be patient. I just hope that the gears are functioning a little more smoothly before adam announces his first single, and see the real value in independent fan sites
