where's Adam in all this?? On the link it say's, As they prep for a massive tour with Adam Lambert in place of the irreplaceable Freddie Mercury, Brian May & Roger Taylor take stock, "we knew what we wanted" they tell Mark Blake "it was just a question of getting it". That coupled with the quote on the front of the mag saying "Freddie didn't want us to stop" leads me to suspect there will be a part about their collab with Adam. So even the irreplaceable gets my goat.. OK so I guess I got up on the wrong side of the bed... LOL Just so tired of Adam eating humble pie or made to look like ok he's the best we can get kind of thing.. I truly believe that Adam sings Queen songs better than Freddie .. but that has nothing to do with the magnitude of Mercury's talent."Nobody puts baby in the corner"

I haven't seen any of those comments from Adam, the one reference he made in answer to a question was a quote and although some people clearly didn't get the reference he didn't answer any of them or roll his eyes at the fact. He got sassy on Instagram at a couple of fans recently commenting he should cut his hair, shave his beard or somehow change his look, persona etc but tbh I don't blame him, whatever we think of his choices in hair, wardrobe or even how he chooses to live I personally think it's crass to actually go on his social media and start telling him how to live his life so I'm not in the least surprised when he occasionally bites back. I think he's pretty cool and deals with it with humor for the most part but any fan who doesn't know Adam hate's being told what to do clearly hasn't been paying attention. They could be new fans who don't know much about him I suppose but it's still ignorant in my book. It seems people think celebs on social media are fair game for saying anything they want to but at the end of the day how many of us would be happy to have people tell us what we should be doing with our looks or our lives. As to the drug references in the vid, I've seen plenty video's that are way worse than that, lots of rap/hip hop artists do nothing but reference drugs, violence etc and swear constantly throughout each "song" and I use the term loosely so the hippie vibe of that vid is very mild by comparison. I'm not a fan of the vid personally, not my vibe, but I'm far more interested in his music than a video, that's just an extra to take or leave so it matters not to me. I haven't seen any negative reviews of it in the media as yet and it's being widely reported on. Very well said. And I agree with melliemom as well. Fans (like the lady having the meltdown) should try to let go of the control. I don't care for the video but others really like it so it is fine. Not going to get worked up over it. And I'm playing the heck out of it anyway even if not watching it much, lol. But loving the song more without it. And I still don't see this big drug push that some are trying to push. Why? Adam is not irresponsible so why try to paint him that way as an argument. And I don't blame him from not taking s**t about his choice of a boyfriend or his looks. He does not spend a lot of time fighting with people trying to tell him what to do. But on occasion, he does say back the hell off and I don't blame him. I don't care for all the facial hair but would never comment to him or on his social media. He is going to do what he wants and love who he wants. The control is his and not the fans or non-fans. There are things and times to get worked up over but this does not seem to be one of them. We have our preferences and we state them but don't get mad if he fails to do what we want. He is not going to let other people control him. And most of us wouldn't either.

I think he’s pretty cool, too 😁. I love that he shares a lot with fans - anyone who follows him knows he’s respectful, kind, and appreciative. But I also love that he respects himself and treats himself kindly by drawing a line when and where he needs to draw it. He stands up for himself, his vision, and his art (and his friends) - I admire that. I personally love the new songs, and I personally love the NE mv, and like all his fans, I think, I love the upward trajectory his career is on as well as his personal happiness ❤️. I’ve totally enjoyed/enjoy QAL but I like the solo side a little more because I enjoy the additional insights into Adam the artist and even Adam the person. Also, thanks to those of you sharing the reviews and notices here because otherwise I wouldn’t catch all those accolades and they make me smile. Just think - Friday Adam is going to sing BR as former AI/current QAL and THEN sing NE as solo artist. That is really pretty great.

Check out the comments on the NE YouTube -- many comparisons to bands I would not expect to see associated with an Adam song -- Black Keys, Arctic Monkeys, and so on. And these from Swifties ... many more!! Here are a few. stanningswift Come from Taylor Swift's insta story and she's so right about this song being a bop Shivam Murari Taylor Swift brought me here. Jasmin Felicity Here because of Taylor Swift! This is really a blessing to my ears! 😍 Haniya Jamal Who else came from Taylor's story in insta? 😂♥️ Slime Clouds Here because Taylor Swift told me to. Great song! 👍🏼

And the people comparing it to "Slow Hands" crack me up. That funky pop/blues baseline is not Irish from 2017, it is American from the 1960's - 1970's. Probably both songs should credit George Porter Jr. as an inspiration.
I saw those comparison comments so checked out Arctic Monkeys and Niall, but really didn't see why they thought it was similar other than maybe the mid-tempo? Or maybe I'm missing something.. It's like some commenters were saying Adam looked like some guy just because of a vaguely similar haircut and facial hair when there was no similarity otherwise. Would be so refreshing if everyone could experience the song with New Eyes and no preconceptions or expectations.. I also saw comparisons to Australian indie rock band Tame Impala. They are very hot currently - performed at Coachella.

My perspective on this is a bit specific as I work in PR in the EDM (Electronic Dance Music) industry that spent YEARS trying to break the association with drugs and the negative aspects of the rave culture. There are clear guidelines for our artists not to use any, even very loose, substance references on social media, videos, and public appearances, that includes pot that's legal in a number of states and provinces. And I dodn't doubt that all of them still manage to get their creative message across, or at least no one has complained. But then there was one producer who was like: "you guys can suck it" and made a track titled "Molly". LOL Fortunately he's not with my agency so we didn't have to personally deal with the fallout but the industry as a whole was not amused. We also tell out clients to never ever engage with Negative Nancys on social media. What it does, is make you look a) petty b) defensive. I always say, if you feel like answering to a hater, answer to 3 fans/positive messages instead, don't validate/reward negativity. For that reason, I hate it when Adam gets sassy in comments. Also, I don't get this whole "I do what I want" attitude/comments because it has the potential to come off as cocky and dismissive which, as some of the fan comments in the last 24 hours show, has happened here. Don't approach the masses as sheep, take them for granted and act like "you don't care" or roll your eyes when someone doesn't understands your slang. Not a good look AT ALL. See... to me this PC-inspired-direction dictated or suggested to your artists is exactly what Adam decided to leave behind... idk who is right and who is wrong here, obviously there are several sides to the same “truth”... The other important misconception IMO is that some see a drug reference in the MV where it is clearly NOT the case. (I remember similar discussions re TOH, and what he was referring to)... it is so misleading to assume that only drugs bring happiness, joy, light, etc... The MV is clearly talking about different muses and he explains that to him it is LOVE. So, why are we playing to the lowest denominator here and talking hallucinogenic drugs (or any other kinds)? The song is a love song, it is inspirational, it is catchy, it is deep... love it!
