Permission was given when the master recordings were made would be my guess so I would assume that they have the right to use those master recordings but would still have to pay the songwriting royalties. That would be my assumption. . If this is truly the case.. kinda makes one wonder why the recordings weren't made available back when Adam was on AI... that would have been the time to "clean up" so to speak.. especially if the some of the other Idolettes had recordings out and available.( not talking about Adam making them available.. but for the moneygrabber/sleazeball guy Westwhatever his name is) I just keep remembering an interview around the time of AI where BB was asked about hearing from people from his past. He said something about "Oh, NOW you want to be my friend?!" Somewhere I think the connection was made from this comment to the Take One album promoters. It was probably all speculation, but if true, sure sounded like there was no love there from before Idol and there had been some hard feelings. :-/

Right after the show .. with the tour on the road.. Pre Idol recordings would have moved a very good amount.. just don't undertstand what is different now ... why now.

It's fun exploring that designers' site - he's done a lot for Will.i.am. and the rest of the Black-Eyed Peas, it looks like.

Actually looks like something Adam would wear... we can only hope for the under "shirt/top" Love the sleeveless jacket with the hood (& the other pics from their website)! It's sooo Adam. Cannot wait to see the pics from THAT photoshoot! Wonder if "edgy and futuristic" will apply to the tour? Hmmmmm

I would have totally bought it back then and felt no remorse whatsoever! The "Why now?" is a very good question!

Hi, guys!!
I'm in the #WaitingForConclusiveEvidence camp before having anything to say about Monte.
I will admit I am glad Adam moved away from that CV sound. I can honestly say I would not be a stan if that represented his style today, although I can appreciate his voice. I see more of Monte and his musical preferences in those clips than Adam's. But then, I'm not a big fan of that style of rock.
More Important (to me, anyway) is the reaction im getting from a friend whom I've turned into a fan. We were listening to the GNL cd the other day. Adam comes on with the patter that many dismiss as overly scripted and trite. My friend hears his words about love-the good, the and, the ugly..
When he says the bit about looking for love in the wrong places, and how love can suck, my friend says, "wow, that's me." bottom line- she related to his words, they connected with her and her experiences. She had no clue he'd said those words many times before (and would after). To her, it was fresh and relevant.
If we know anything about Adam we know he probably spent a lot of time thinking about message, story arc and emotional impact. Well, for those who haven't seen every one of his concert you tubes, his efforts resonate and feel true.
So I decided to listen to FYE again, first time in a long time. guess what? I fell in love again. I can appreciate not only his voice, but the intricacy and polish of the production. Could it be better, showcase "the voice" more? You bet. But it's a damn good album and I am proud of Adam for putting it out.
My friend heard Voodoo for the first time the other day. She raved. I just bought the special FYE to give her.
Oh, and, Welsford sucks!
ETA: please forgive typos and punctuation. I'm on iPad.
