HAPPY BIRTHDAY tiilis!!! WELCOME gliztripper [/b][/size] (love your name - I must confess that it took me ages to realize we weren't in danger of tripping over the "bits" ) Finished reading the arguments banished to yesterday's thread....enjoyed each and every one, and see no reason to worry about how we might appear to newcomers - this board is filled with exceptionally intelligent, thoughtful....well meaning members. Personally, all sweetness and light bores the hell out of me. Hah!

I think he addressed the BFM release, not Monte's possible role in it. That is why I suspend judgement on the Monte situation. I thought she was referring to the Monte situation also, LuLu. I agree, Adam has addressed how he feels about BFM. I will NOT be spending any money on these songs. Not sure if I will illegally download either. I already have them all and never play them. Never!

Hmmm... So according to nonotme #'s, Adam was making ~$200/show and in the mid $80K range per year. (That is if he actually worked all year - which I don't know. He could have worked/made much less). Not chicken feed. But not great for an expensive city like LA. Neither my husband or I were making 94K a year at the age of 25, and we both have college degrees. j/s Adam made close to 94K a year while he was in Wicked. He was a full time employee and an ensemble member/understudy for a mega-musical production. Since its 2003 debut, Wicked has broken box office records around the world, holding weekly-gross-takings records in New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, St. Louis, and London. Adam was in the Los Angeles production of Wicked for two years. He was considered a full-time cast member and was part of the actor's equity union, so he had paid vacation and sick leave in addition to insurance benefits. I'm not sure that people understand what an accomplishment it is to even get hired on a full time basis, much less with a production of this magnitude. My daughter is a musical theatre kid. Like Adam, she spent most of her childhood and teen years practicing and performing on a stage. Like Adam, she started college pursuing a theatre degree. (bless her heart) We know hundreds of talented kids and adults(some who have degrees and master degrees in MT) who are triple threats. You would be astonished at the talent some of these performers have. They would ALL give anything they had to get a job and opportunity like Adam had! We have several friends who are currently in New York trying to make it by going to several auditions on a weekly basis. These are kids who graduated with degrees from prestigious and well-respected Musical Theatre programs at expensive universities. These college-degreed, extremely talented young adults are living in tiny apartments on bunk beds and have jobs in restaurants or in retail stores. When my daughter saw Adam audition on AI, and heard them say he was in the cast of Wicked, the first words out of her mouth were, "why the heck is he doing this- he's already made it"! No lie, that was exactly what she said. She can't imagine that anything in the world could be better than making a living being on a Theatre stage. Adam was one of the VERY FEW who could support himself by performing on the Theatre stage. DD did a report on careers in Theatre a couple of years ago. She found that statistics show that a high school football player has a better chance of becoming an NFL player than a high school theatre kid has a chance of even minimally supporting themselves by performing on a stage. These were sobering statistics, and the reason she entered college pursuing a double major. No, Adam was not the "star" of an NFL team, but at least he was on the team. In the Theatre world, Adam had made it to the big leagues, so to speak. He was not just some "chorus boi" in some regional production of a so-so production. His role in the touring company of Hair, his major role in Ten Commandments, and his ensemble/understudy role in the biggest musical production of this past decade is nothing to be scoffed at!

Cassie, unfortunately, it will simmer until either a statement is seen or it's not listed on Amazon anymore. Actually, cassie, we had all moved on. Yesterday's thread was wonderful and happy and full of love, until the end of it. I was very surprised when I woke up and saw the way that thread ended up after such a wonderful, Twittery day!

I think everybody is pretty well posted out on the subject, but trust me it is simmering.

Sigh. Sigh. Sigh.
If I agree that Monte is complicit in the release of the CV album, can we move on today?
If I agree that Monte has every right to have the CV songs released, can we move on today?
If I agree that Monte helped Adam in many ways and Adam should be appreciative, can we move on today?
If I agree that Adam owes Monte nothing, can we move on today?
If I agree that Monte should have made a public statement about the CV songs immediately, can we move on today?
If I agree that Adam and Monte are smartly turning the whole thing over to the lawyers and the suits, and will make a statement when they say it is appropriate, can we move on today?
If I agree that Monte stabbed Adam in the back, can we move on today?
If I agree that Adam stabbed Monte in the back, can we move on today?
Yeah, probably not. This topic is still boiling. Whether I see it as a lively discussion or contentious argument, y'all are abiding by the rules of the forum. So, I guess it will be another day of scroll, scroll, scroll for me. Maybe I'll just download a new book onto my Kindle. Or, unpack and assemble that FloorMate machine I bought a month ago to clean my hardwood and tile floors. Heck, I could even use it!
Nah. Think I'll just watch the GNT live DVD. And compute the hours and minutes until November.
Sigh. Sorry. Guess "tongue in cheek" and a little sarcasm don't translate to the printed form. I LOVE and SUPPORT Adam. He is an amazing artist and an amazing person. I went on Amazon and posted comments about Adam not wanting these CDs released. I will not be buying or stealing any of these tracks. That is really all I can personally do about this situation. I firmly believe that Adam's legitimate single and album ARE going to EXPLODE, and Adam will exceed all expectations and gain wide spread respect at a new level. That is inevitable. Regardless of what happens with bastard albums. I can't wait!

I definitely agree. I feel Adam has paid any debt to Monte many times over. Monte has said over and over again in interviews, the quality he admires most in Adam is his loyalty. Monte may have agreed to something without knowing what he agreed to. Welsford is the slimeball. doesn't that make Monte sound a bit naive though? He's been hip deep in this business for over 15 years, working along side one of the most savvy entertainers ever to work within the cut throat music industry so IMO there is no way that Monte would agree to something without checking the legalities of it thoroughly and making sure that all his Ts were crossed and I's were dotted. Monte would need to ensure he couldn't be sued by RCA/19R for infringing on their rights to Adam's name, image, voice and so would Welsford. Since it's clear that Monte and this Welsford person still have a close working relationship it seems doubtful that Monte is/was completely in the dark about this. That said, Adam is a grown man and I am confident that he can and will handle his business and personal relationships according to his own desires and feelings. Thanks for the welcome back ;D

idolator.com/6039452/adam-lambert-tweets-single-album-datesAdam Lambert Tweets Loose Upcoming Single, Album Dates"As fans of Adam Lambert can attest, it’s been nearly two long years since the release of new music from the singer. And so any scrap of info — for instance, lyrics to a few upcoming tracks — gets us in a bit of a state. The Season 8 Idol alum tossed out a few more tidbits yesterday via Twitter. “Seems as though the single will explode in November. I’m sorry for the delay- but trust me, it’s worth it,” Adam tweeted. He also added that, surprisingly, the single has yet to be chosen, but the album “will be released in the spring. Feb/march?” Can the Glam Nation wait that long?"
