;D Glad it wasn't lyndsay too because the bitterness would've been epic within the idol bubble. I just find it interesting (read annoying and irritating) that suddenly 196,739 (scotty's sound scan number) is amazing, super fabulous when in 2009 those same people were scoffing at 198,466 saying if you can't hit 200K you ain't that great. ... I'm only a fan of Adam and Kelly... really. Of course they are doing a happy dance. Idol winners haven't exactly brought it in terms of sales since Cook. I'm generally an "idol" fan with special reserves for Kelly and Adam but I've purchased at least one album from every season of Idol since it began. I am sure they are doing a happy dance and they should be Scotty's numbers are great. Just like Adam's numbers in 2009 were great.... |

He said FIRST single!!!!!! That means we'll get more than one, yes!! EXACTLY!!!!! WE WILL HAVE MORE THAN ONE SINGLE WHILE WAITING FOR THE SPRING-ish TIME!!!!! I don't think that's what he means. I think he means first single off the new era. Depending on the trajectory we might get a second single before the album drops but that's actually pretty unusual unless the song peaks before the album is released (which can either be great if it's a smash or terrible if it's a flop). I just want a really strong lead single that he can use to promote the album and will worry about single #2 later on. |

Chart WatchMcCreery's album sold 197K copies this week. That's the biggest first-week tally for a first post-Idol album by an Idol winner since Cook's eponymous album sold 284K in its first week three years ago. But McCreery was edged out by the most prominent runner-up of recent years. I'm not saying that they aren't great numbers or that they should have their own happy dance. Its just that when you look at sales in hind sight they look much better. Adam aside for a moment, would people declare these such great numbers 2 or 3 years ago. Expectations have changed following S8 and S9. |
