I won't buy the bastard album and reward Welsford, mainly because I hate "brand pirates" - that is people who sail on in and try to steal advantage on the back of what others put time energy and belief into building. There is a good reason why Apple comes down on people who try and cash in on an implied association (mostly by putting "i" in front of some technology). Monte isn't even a player in this so no comment there... overall, apart from some short-term confusion in limited quarters, I sincerely doubt it will have any real impact on Adam or his new album.
Carry on.

The site has added a disclaimer now - "ummm, these don't actually refer to BFM," basically (after how many days)? It so disingenously presents as all "Adam-friendly." People speed-read over this type of disclaimer. Adam's words and the intention to mislead are still there.

My personal opinion, for what it's worth, is that the core issue is unchanged: the people putting out the BFM album are doing their best to make a buck off of Adam's fame, and going about it in a way that is really not cool, to say the least. Adam doesn't like it. Those two things together and my decision is easy. I'm not going to buy or support the album. I'm not a big fan of what I've heard, but if there is a d/l link, I'll add it to my collection. As for Monte, I can understand where he is coming from, and he's in a tough spot, but I have issues with how he is communicating about this. I have no idea what's going on behind the scenes, though, and I'm sure it's way more complicated than we'll ever know. It's up to Adam to decide what if anything to do about Monte. I don't like his music so I'll continue to not buy it, LOL. And late flail re the SINGLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Wait?! Is this actually copied form Monte's letter? I don't want to give it any hits, so I am not going to. But does he link to the site that is promoting the album in his "open letter?"

Monte is telling people to buy it if they like it. Don't buy it if you don't. [shrug] Monte said he was proud of it. He also clearly states that this is OLD material, and that both he and Adam are working on current albums.

Burrito alert. I haven't popped the cork yet so this post is going to be dull. Just wanted to say that I like Monte, mainly because he likes Adam and Adam likes him. He accepted Adam, befriended Adam and helped Adam when a lot of straight guys wouldn't and for that I'll always have a soft spot for him. I don't care about his music and will never be a "fan" of his but I won't leap to judgement regarding this bastard album because I believe in innocent until proven guilty. Truth is it'll take Adam turning his back on him (which I doubt he'll ever do -- he's not made that way) before I will. Not that it matters if I do. If a tree falls in the forest and nobody hears it does it make a sound? Ha! Even in a sober state I post gobbledygook.

Are we talking about the tweets on the bastard site? I'm sorry I'm not clearer - I'm trying to do two things at once and doing neither very well! I meant, when I first saw the bastard/BFM site a few days ago, the tweeted lyrics were there and, if I remember correctly, there was nothing that made clear that Adam's tweeted lyrics were NOT from songs on BFM. Now, there's a disclaimer: *** Please note these tweets are NOT ABOUT “Beg For Mercy” which will be out later this year ***. I think they added that at a later point. Also, I find it really squicky that the site presents itself as being all "go, Adam!" (They have a photo of him and mom from PFLAG dinner . . . ) That's what I was trying to say.
