I can't make up my mind if I like the new look or not. Does anyone else feel the same and if do please tell me why, because I can't figure out what is bothering me. I had more to say, but I give up. I'm just too tired now so good night. It took me a while too to figure out why I don't like it, but I'm sitting here waiting interminably for a report to show up and can't do anything until it does, so I had the time. LOL 1. I don't care for shaved head sections on anyone, but... I especially don't like it when there is a high contrast between the skin color and the hair color. So a shaved section of skull on a blonde with pale skin or someone with dark hair and dark skin doesn't bother me (don't like it, but don't really care). But dark hair and pale skin... Ugh. It reminds me of someone who's recovering from brain surgery. 2. The whole look is way too much DJ Jazzy Jeff and the Fresh Prince for me. It's a BTDT look, so I'm bored. But even they did not button the shirt all the way up and/or add a vest. "] So for me the problem is that the pattern is very strong without an offsetting visual "rest" for the eyes. Exposed skin provides that visual "rest" and keeps the pattern from being over-powering. The vest is not working to provide the "rest" the eyes need to deal with the pattern. Between the patterns/colors on the shirt, plus the vest, plus the shaved hair, I'm not seeing Adam. I'm seeing his fashion choices.

Pharrel Williams is on X Factor toinight!! He is the guest mentor for Paula's group! He was on last night - I saw it! Me too. I jumped when he said something about the importance of being a good technical singer. Check!

I can totally see that. You're right. I think when I first saw the pic my eyes were all over the place (and not in a good way ) I didn't see that shirt and vest and hairstyle as complementing him, I saw them as jumping out for the sake of themselves. It's hard to overpower Adam's magnetism, that's why he CAN get away with wearing so many accessories, but this just didn't work for me (for you). The shirt is beautiful, but pretty loud, so you really need to downplay it, not put a vest over it. I really thought he was in a '70s theme costume at first. You're also right about the hair. The "step" was the big trend for kids in the '90s, when my very blond nephews were young. Seemed like every one of their blond classmates had the "step" (shaved sides around the bottom). My b-i-l was always steadfast that his kids would never have a "gimmick hairdo." LOL. When it was the rage in the '90s, I didn't care for it on anyone, but I have to admit, when Adam had the trimmed (not shaved) sides with the cut lines, he looked REALLY cute with them. I think you're right, because they weren't fully shaved, the look wasn't so stark. This angular, shaved thing does look very Vanilla Ice to me. :-/ It does make my head spin wondering what the cover art is going to look like. I got rather attached to those Lee Cherry Studiobert pics and thought he could not look more gorgeous. And now this is something entirely new. We will have to see ...
