For those who think Adele's voice is a bit too forced, give this version of "Someone Like You" a listen. Reihmer and Catz had it up earlier and if you didn't/couldn't take the time, listen now. I listened to this the other day, and thought it was beautiful sounding but not emotionally appealing to me. It reminded me of the way songs get the broadway/jazz band treatment on Glee. This interpretation reads to me as college acapella group (even if a very good one). Adele's interpretation on the other hand reminds me in some ways of Amy Winehouse or Billy Holiday, steeped in emotion, it pulls me into the same space.

Hehe dont' tempt me Saw the show on HBO and read the book all the way up to the last one, and for some reason stalled. But it is a really good book and show is so close to the book. Never saw the HBO series..no TV..can you get a DVD?? Know where either Marie23 or Rabbitrabbit?? I'll keep it in mind for the book thread, tho, but need to get a tad further along first. Did either of you read all 5? I'm only on three..Reihmer is right about that..I wonder who will be left by book 4? ??? Nah, I only read up to the first 2 chapters of the 5th book. Not sure if it's on DVD or not, was watching the show before on streams.

Now if these radio stations get the album info through some sort of direct feed from amazon, RCA could post the real Adam #2 with a release date on amazon and it would get posted on the radio station online display. Hey, and we could learn the title... Actually, they'd probably call it TBD with a subtitle such as "Adam's only real RCA release." Wouldn't solve all the problems, but at least people looking at the radio station's website might know better than to buy you BFM for Christmas! peace&love People don't read disclaimers or what's "under the fold", i.e. "RCA's only real release" or the word "Official." All they look for is the artist's name. They also don't know or care that Adam is signed with RCA. Look at the fairly massive pr campaign Adam got for FYE, including all that press about the cover -- and yet thousands of fans bought Take One thinking it was Adam's official release. Lots of people are going to buy BFM for the holidays because it's available and it has "ADAM LAMBERT" in big letters. That's all that's needed. Have to give points to Welsford -- he sure knows how to market his product and has plenty of people, including those close to Adam, willing to aid and abet. Carrieb, I just meant that it could help a little on the radio station display of albums, not that it would address the many, many other problems involved with this whole thing. Sorry if I wasn't clear. Peace&love

I have been doing consumer research for decades -- a lot of it in entertainment product -- and the research work I have done does not support the above comment. But I have not researched Adam's product and associated buyer attitudes/behavior.
It is OK to have a personal opinion and write about it. But if you want to speak for a large percentage of consumers and make generalization about buyer behavior, support it with some facts.
It is OK to say "I do not look at disclosures......" or "I/my mom/my friend bought TO and was fooled...."
I have no idea why or who bought TO but I have met several fans at Adam concerts who actually like the music. So at least some people know exactly what they purchased, others maybe not.
Opinions are great, facts are much more compelling. But let's not mix them up.Given this, if you Q3 or anyone else has links to articles we can read about buyer behavior in this situation, I'd find it interesting and maybe informative. Without seeing the stats myself or linked studies I pretty much assume everything I'm reading in fan forums is personal opinion, and I have no way of evaluating for myself whether based on assumptions or actual fact unless there is an outside link. I will look for some things that are public and can be shared. Most of what I worked on for years was strictly confidential. Large companies invest in consumer research to gain competitive advantage and require non-disclosure agreements. I would love to field an Adam Lambert study and quantify the effect of the FYE album cover. I actually think it was the biggest miss of the FYE era and cost Adam sales but I would love to know what it really did. ETA: nonotme I think that your suggestion is a good and very simple one. I hope someone from RCA is reading this tread tonight.
