WOW - it's a big reminiscing day for me. One year ago NOW, I was waiting in the VIP line at the Trusts Stadium in Auckland along with eri9 and the (what was to become) NZGlitterTribe and we were all flailage and squeeage cos we were about to meet... Adam F. LambertIt was so ironic for me that I had already travelled half way round the world, flown for 47 hours over 37,000 kms to see four GNT's because we didn't believe at that stage that he would ever come downunder. And here I was 15 minutes away from home on my own turf about to meet him for the first time : Life works in mysterious ways Yes, wasn't it ironic??!!!! Was extra special to be able to see him here "on our turf" tho! AND of course the M & G This was our very first glimpse of him as we lined up and watched him give an interview - he turned and smiled and waved and we all DIED!!!

We could see him, but not hear him and y'all know we love him saying 'words'. But! - we did get to just 'watch' for a while 8-) *sighs, memories*

Sorry for butting into the ongoing conversation with older stuff -- it's been my only chance to post this week! GREAT photo from NZ, btw! "Maybe the lesson for me is that it doesn't matter what the title—artists, entertainers— the point is how they make you feel; how they make you think; how they challenge you. "Thank you once again, NoAngel, for another essay that challenges me and makes me think and makes me feel. You are also an artist, and every Sunday I look forward to your essays. I have learned in my life that when my feelings go round and round, it is time to stop and think. Why does this feel challenging? What feels so scary about this? What am I afraid of? Then I can understand why I feel challenged and how I need to grow to meet those challenges. That makes me have something to do, some personal work to accomplish within myself, and that is something I can control and focus on and feel good about. Deciding to do that brings me peace, and from that place quiet strength emerges. I know you were writing about Adam, but as you said, I stan him as the real life person that I am. Paradoxically, the things I find compelling about him are rooted in my real life and are also a way to escape it when I need a break. At times, they have been transformational because they have made me feel- feel empowered, feel connected, feel engaged, feel healed, feel alive, feel inspired, feel loving, feel creative, feel compassionate, and yes, feel challenged. I haven't been able to spend much time here this week (kind of skimmed through most of the threads), but wanted to say that I loved NoAngel's essay, and I also love the above post. I do think of Adam as an artist, and while assigning that label to him might be evidence of a bias for 'artist' over 'entertainer', as NoAngel said, I also think it's descriptive of what he actually does. And in truth, he is both an artist AND an entertainer. As an entertainer, he participates in that energy exchange with the audience exemplified by his infinity tattoo. But before that can happen, he creates the art he wants to share. He does that not only by writing and recording the songs, but also by going through the creative process of planning the presentation, the theme, the look, the organization, etc., etc., in order to have a coherent work of art to present to his audience. And in addition to that, he sharpens and maintains his tools for the presentation -- most importantly his voice, but also his body. I was bowled over by the show he created for not only the GNT, but the AI tour set. But what he did in creating Glam Nation out of FYE was, to me, just incredible. So I am fascinated by him as an artist, an entertainer, and also as the person visible through interviews, twitter, fan meetings, etc. He does challenge me and cause me to think and to feel, but he also exemplifies attributes that I attempt, often unsuccessfully, to emulate -- courage, generosity, self-acceptance, collaborative effort, and a continual striving to learn and grow and keep moving. And most importantly, I think -- what I most need to learn -- his in-the-moment attentiveness. I do sometimes get stuck in the shallow end and use that to avoid dealing with my own life. #vicariouslivingthroughfanfiction Love the photo of Adam with Brad on pg. 1. A few more things, from earlier conversations -- Seems like much of the discussion this week was about BFM and the Paramount Sessions album. I can't even begin to follow it all, but I still feel, as I did last week, that this will not really hurt Adam long term. And I LOVED that article (can't remember where it was from -- THR??) where the author basically said that this situation is a rite-of-passage for big stars -- so how can that really be bad? He is already perceived as having made it, in some ways. Not saying that Adam #2 isn't VERY important, but...although, having said that, the sleaziness of the situation is still infuriating. In the meantime, I have no need or desire for those bastard albums, don't plan to buy them. Not sure what happened with Monte, but I have minimal interest in him anyway. Always found him the least appealing band member, truthfully. I agree with what Cassie said about both Monte and Cam in one of the recent threads -- they're good, but they're not particularly exciting or inventive. I preferred Lisa on keys. And I agree with those who thought that Zak was especially great. But Adam seems to enjoy working with Cam, and she fits in well with the others in the band. As does Isaac, although I preferred Longineau. I like Tommy, he has some onstage charisma as well as great chemistry with Adam, but I like the idea someone suggested earlier, of Tommy on rhythm guitar, with another bassist and lead guitarist. Ah well, who knows... Finally -- Adam's twitter party last weekend made me cringe, for a slew of reasons. I hated that he felt it necessary to address 'shipping' and his relationship with Tommy on twitter. But I admit that I really like that they now seem to feel more free to be open about their friendship on twitter. Maybe this will discourage the 'haters' on both sides. And awwww to Sauli singing Happy Birthday to Tommy. Ok, shutting up for now!! End of thread again??

aralid - re: musik-magazin.blog.de/2011/09/16/adam-lambert-steve-cooke-neues-doppelalbum-paramount-sessions-video-11858648/All I can say is Scheisse! ....(I assume latest since Lady Gaga most non Germans are sufficiently familiar with that expression, right?) I already posted a comment there which is pending approval, please feel free to leave one too. There is one poster named Paul who is so far fighting the comment section battle alone. He's done well, but he could use some help. This has already been reported on AO, so we are ok there. One of the comments by Welsford's lemmings actually has interesting info about meeting with Radio DJs in Germany, so I will head back to AO and check that this info makes it too. There is an important comment from the RCAFlashMod on that AO thread, asking us to only report, if an article, PR, or other mention makes a claim to 'new music' or the 'sophomore album' or the second album. They do not want to hear on their AO thread about any advertising of BFM or PS in general. Kind of telling where the legal angle is, doesn't it? HSM, the Chargers are the local San Diego team and they have done well in recent times, but just like his son, Eber does not associate himself with the locals, I suppose. As mentioned, the Raiders do have an LA past and they are also always the anti-establishment team (as compared to SF 49ers who are also in the Bay Area). Of course Adam could not care less. But then, if the T-shirt says AL, he could always let Sauli wear it. ;D Happy Birthday Buderschnookie!!! and if I read that right, Stampsgal, you too!!! Not sure now, because nobody else chimed in, but then I was not quite sure about your post either....so if its not your birthday, then Happy Unbirthday to you! I'll raise my glass to you too! Got to fly backwards thru multiple days of threads...bb later. Yes, it is Scheiße. But now there are 2 comments from the 10/17 and probably one is yours. I will not leave a comment, cause everything is said and I couldn't have said it better. But I will observe it and if i see it necessary i will add a comment.
