Javi is replying to lots of comments on his latest IG pic. He said his brother said the QAL show was the best show he's ever seen. javicostapolo @blommekristel it was! My brother told me it was the best concert he has ever been to! http://instagr.am/p/B0804FAhp3U That is a very nice picture of Javi. So happy his family got to see the show, and Adam in action, and that his brother (and I'm sure his family) enjoyed QAL.

I was just thinking about the MSG shows, still on the high! ...in retrospect there is only one “disappointing” moment - I wish he did the “carry the torch” speech rather than the “pink elephant “ variety... doesn’t matter of course... so, it seems New York Times didn’t bother with a review this time? Did they? I just can’t watch the speech anymore. And why does Adam keep bowing down to Brian? Adam is a star in his own right - one of three people who make this whole thing happen, each equally dependent on the others. Time he realised that. It’s not the Brian and Freddie Show. I too was hopeful for a moment that Adam's "humble pie worship" would end and transform into a crisp and respectful "carry the torch" speech. But now he is back to where he started many, many years ago and I find it extremely irritating. I think it is dorky and almost inappropriate at this point, and I wonder if it it may hurt him. I don't think it has to do with confidence issues as he seems to be quite aware of the magnitude of his role that he fulfills so splendidly, but may be it's his default line that he doesn't have to think about anymore as he has gotten so used to it, or may be it is his security blanket from overly harsh critics. I still don't get it. Edit/addition: I just read cassie 's comment, which helped me process things a little bit... "I also acknowledge that this is a Queen show with the addition of Adam. A majority of folks in the audience are there mainly for Queen; their music, their reputation, their history. And Freddie looms large in the minds of these folks. Regardless of how extraordinary Adam is in the role of frontman, and how amazing his vocals are, he is fighting an uphill battle to be accepted fronting such an iconic band. There are those just waiting to find fault in Adam. He has to win them over emotionally before they will listen with open ears and hearts. He has found a surefire way to do that by paying respect and homage to Brian, Roger and Freddie as he does." Read more: adamtopia.com/thread/5242/8-9-19-qal-chicago?page=4#ixzz5w83gg0l0

Is is possible to bring over some of Javi's IG questions/answers? I see about 6 comments under his IG, but no replies. I don't have IG so maybe that's why I can't see anything.
TIA.

I just can’t watch the speech anymore. And why does Adam keep bowing down to Brian? Adam is a star in his own right - one of three people who make this whole thing happen, each equally dependent on the others. Time he realised that. It’s not the Brian and Freddie Show. Of course, we Glamberts consider Adam on equal footing with Brian and Roger. Maybe I even think Adam is the real star, as they would not have had this resurgence of success and acclaim without him (as demonstrated by Queen + Paul Rogers). I think Adam carries the show. Yes. I am a Glambert. And proud of it. I also acknowledge that this is a Queen show with the addition of Adam. He has found a surefire way to do that by paying respect and homage to Brian, Roger and Freddie as he does. Adam is an ultimate showman. While he says he is enjoying being himself on stage, he is also playing a role. It is all well planned, well thought out, well tested during 200 performances. He knows just what notes and phrases will elicit gasps from the audience. What looks and interpretations will bring smiles to their faces, will inspire them to sing along, will draw sighs of awe for the sounds and visuals and costumes. He is playing to the crowd. And, in his opinion, the deference, humility, and homage are precisely what the crowd wants and needs. "I give the people what they want!" I think Adam has also taught Roger and Brian a thing or two about putting on a show for the crowd. Especially Brian. They don't need the obsequience and bows. They consider Adam their mate, their brother, their equal. They know 150% what they have in Adam and what he brings to the show. They don't need Adam to stroke their egos. But they see that what Adam is doing works for the crowd. They go along with it. In my mind, I know it is all a show, all theater, designed for their audience. And it works! So I think we must bite the bullet and deal with the pink elephant, the Freddie is a god, etc. Well I'm all for Queen giving Adam equal billing,on all marques ,outside theaters,i.e Power The Movement, not the tiny Adam Lambert .. That would help a lot to put him where he belongs before the shows. It shows some respect also.... .

How about Adam's fans who go to a great many Queen concerts? I never cared for Queen until Adam.. He just needs to tone the praise down a bit.. How is that difficult. caring the torch says it all

Actually he had been saying ‘carrying a torch’ , which has a much different meaning than ‘carrying the torch’. Fairly certain he’s not pining for Freddie Caveat, at least in the speech I did hear, I haven’t listened to them all.

cassiecsquaredAgree totally, the fans appreciate it, I've seen lots of comments on facebook etc mentioning how respectful, humble etc Adam is and that seems to win them over plus it's true most Queen fans are seeing that speech once or twice not tons of times in every tour like Adam's fans. I think if Adam felt it was detrimental or made him feel bad he'd stop doing it, there's no way it's Brian & Roger who expect it of him so it has to be his choice.
