Re voting thru Superfan! Yes, it only gives you 3 points, but it counts your vote twice (if you double click 'next'). I am assuming that it is the votes that will help Adam win, not how many points his individual fans have. The points were necessary to earn your right to vote 500 times per day, but once you reach Level 5, you won't earn any more votes per day no matter how many points you earn. Therefore, now it is how many times you vote per day, not how many points you earn per day that is helpful. Using this method, you can put in your 500 votes much quicker, even though you earn fewer points. You can refresh your superfan page to see the vote count go up. Shoot, I forgot to try that doubleclick thing.

Next. Soooo. What is all this nursing home stuff? There don't seem to be any teen fans on here, but as far as I can tell the age range goes from 20s to 60s. Seems pretty much like ALF as far as demographics. I think you cut the high end a little short ... try 20s to 70s ...

For the record, I was a die hard country fan for many years. I love the old twangy stuff (Merle Haggard, Johnny Cash, Tammy Wynette anyone?) and the artists that stand out in today's pop (oh I mean country). I also happen to like Scotty's baritone voice, although he is almost an exact copy of Randy Travis, who although didn't understand Adam's ROF ( mega yuck for me) I still love. I do however agree with whoever said above that the accent and twang was waaay exaggerated. And I don't think he did anything special with his vocals or the arrangement. It was good in the way that he was better than some other artists who have performed the song.
No one needs to listen, but here is how a "country performance of the SSB" should be done.

This is just a funny ... but I admit Scotty's voice does remind me of this a bit (bad word alert):
I like him though and I hope he makes it.

As for Scotty's versus Adam's National Anthem.....no contest for me, but that's because I really don't like any kind of country twang. Not taking anything away for Scotty - as soon as he opened his mouth I knew he'd be a huge country star. His voice is gold in that genre. No contest for me either! I grew up listening to traditional country music. The country twang doesn't bother me at all. It is just different. Scotty's voice IS gold in that genre. Twang is common in country music and the traditional side is making a come back in CM. Scotty's voice is twangy, but so are the voices of Reba McEntire, Jennifer Nettles, Ronnie Dunn, etc. These artists were not popular in the 50s. The "country drawl" has been around for ages and is here to stay in the genre of country music. Here is an example of a live performance of Nettles and Dunn on her song- "Let Him Fly". It starts at the 1:00 mark: www.youtube.com/watch?v=9pnJG1koy8s&feature=relatedRonnie Dunn doesn't sound as twangy on this song as he does on some of his songs with Brooks and Dunn: www.youtube.com/watch?v=X5z-jjWyAJQ&ob=av2esugaree: I LOVE Garth Brooks! I have all of his cds and saw him in concert three times. He is traditional, but no where near the twanginess factor of Nettles, Randy Travis and those like them.

I don't know that whether it matters to Adam that he has not sung the SSB at a major televised sporting event - he may have been asked and declined for some reason.
However, many here want to see him make such an appearance, mostly as an opportunity to show tens of millions of people what a talent he is. And every time a celeb sings in a venue like that and gives just an OK or less performance, we want him to be there even more!

No one needs to listen, but here is how a "country performance of the SSB" should be done. This was beautiful, and I especially loved the expressiveness of Marlee's signing ...

[quote author=susiefierce board=daily thread=531 post=107421 time=1319214299 LOL Seal was capitalized. I didn't get the impression that Adam was wearing an actualfax seal-fur jacket. Some motorcycle jackets are referred to as Seal jackets. www.motorcycle-superstore.com/1/1/39/13195/ITEM/Icon-ARC-Seventh-Seal-Jacket.aspx [/quote] That makes sense! (Better than imagining Adam on some interview explaining, "Well, it's not like I clubbed the seal myself . . .")
