Juniemoon, I love your posts and this one in particular struck a chord with me. I never thought of my attraction to Adam as a desire to "play" again. I always connected it to needing to express myself, not conforming to the expectations of society, facing fears, etc. For the last couple of years I have been trying to figure out the meaning behind my attraction. Maybe that has been why I have never understood--I have been too cerebral in trying to understand something that is so simple and carefree. It is not something I am supposed to understand. It is as basic as needing to play. I have always tried to be older than I am--my grandmother's favorite story about me was my angry response to her when she called me "a cute little girl." I was vehement in my response, "I'm not little!!!"--I wasn't even 2 years old. I have always surrounded myself with an older group of people. I am the youngest of my siblings by almost ten years. I even skipped a grade in middle school because my teachers noticed that all my friends were a grade above, and I didn't fit in with the younger girls. I am always the youngest among my friends and I am often the person from whom they seek advice. Heck, I'm even one of the younger members of this "nursing home" . I will be 40 on my next birthday and it is about time for me to stop being so serious and start playing!! I loved what you wrote here, Alison. I am also pretty cerebral and work with words all day. But music is non-verbal. It works on the part of the brain that has to do with feeling and sensation, not with reason and words. To me Adam's music has been like a secret internal mirror. It reflects back to ourselves who we are and how we relate to others in this world. I was interested to read recently about how people use music not only to dance and relax, but also to deal with emotions, and that there was little difference between men and women in this regard. Next. Soooo. What is all this nursing home stuff? There don't seem to be any teen fans on here, but as far as I can tell the age range goes from 20s to 60s. Seems pretty much like ALF as far as demographics. Adam vs. Scotty National Anthem. These two men are not in competition. My two cents. Perez: ETA: Thanks, SusieFierce!

I guess the collective disgust mentally hurled at BFM finally annihilated it ..... hope similar atrocities are gone for good... maybe not... And I continue to wait... to wait... to wait for the music.... In My Darkest Moment... Music resurrects....

HAPPY BIRTHDAY adamfan4ever!!! AND A BIG OL' HUG TO GLAMNANA! ..... I had no idea I even HAD a "SuperFan" Page!! THANK-YOU - so, so much easier!! (I should have paid attention to you expert voters earlier.) I've never even heard of Niles Rodgers, but flailing with the rest of you! LOL! As for Scotty's versus Adam's National Anthem.....no contest for me, but that's because I really don't like any kind of country twang. Not taking anything away for Scotty - as soon as he opened his mouth I knew he'd be a huge country star. His voice is gold in that genre.
