I have chills all over my body right now. This song HAS to be good, otherwise do you think that Niles would agree to play on it? Guys what do you say? #1 on VH1 Top 20 is really exciting, but THIS, in the studio with Niles, how do you even describe what Adam must be feeling. Adam is not your average pop star, he is a music student, an admirer of all the worthy things that have gone before, so to be working with and be respected by people of this caliber has to be a rush he never in his wildest dreams expected to experience. They now know what we have known for a while, Adam is a very special talent and person. YES!! It goes along with what he said in the Outtakes. "I wanted to make music and do my own show, and do my own expression my own art, where I could be at the helm of it, making decisions. I’ve been in professional theater where you’re directed, and I wanted to direct myself. I wanted to write my own music. I’d started to write stuff on my own, and I had done stuff with a couple of producers. The other thing I realized was, if I could just get with some of these major writers and producers that make things sound amazing, we could collaborate and make amazing songs. So I started thinking, how the fuck am I supposed to get myself in front of some of these people, because it’s a hard business to break into. ..... The fame wasn’t part of the desire."

So, what was my point in showing the two performances? I guess it was my attempt at making a comment about who America votes for on Idol and other such programs, and how little it has to do with vocal ability. America voted for Adam. He was runner-up. (We all know the reason why he wasn't the winner. >:() America voted for Kelly Clarkson and Carrie Underwood as winners. They voted for Haley this past year despite the fact that TPTB and the judges tried to get rid of her. America voted for Scotty this year in a huge way, he was basically untouchable on Dial Idol. They voted for Scotty due to his vocal ability. So far, it looks as if he will have a gold album by Black Friday and that still leaves a few weeks of Christmas buying ahead. When you look at live performances on awards shows or from other outlets, there are two types of artists who consistently sound good live: Those from AI (Kelly, Adam, Carrie, Scotty, Daughtry, Jennifer) and Country Music artists. There were very few artists who sounded good at the AMAs two years ago. Kelly Clarkson, Lady Antebellum and a couple of other country artists were the exceptions. Kelly and LA were the stars of the night and their singles took off and exploded on the charts after their performances. Kelly Clarkson covering a Carrie Underwood song this past week: www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=0ZAQuMF-oeoIMO, Kelly should drop the pop songs and go the Adele route.

I love how at ease he looks here working with a music powerhouse! Probably because he deserves to be in such company :D. Sooo happy for him (and for us when we get to hear it)! Yay! We got the smiley pic I was praying for. Too cute. I love how excited Nile it about the vibe/song and he calls Adam his friend. And the extended interview really shows how an edited article can take on a completely different vibe or meaning from an uncut one. I would be so nervous knowing the writer or editor had so much power to shape what is said into something else. Not that they did anthing bad but others have. My favorite part( outside of the aww...Sauli meeting) Songwriting is scripted, but live performance is something else. I love being spontaneous — there are spontaneous notes I hit when I sing a song from this time to that time, I don’t stand in the same place, I don’t have moves — unless it’s a choreographed routine. Things do have a life of their own —that’s where the magic is. I love that he knows this as it means he'll always leave space for the magic to occur. So much to flail over don't know which way to look. Wee... Sending love and strength to you glamnana.

Exactly, Cassie. Fame does often bring the opportunities, but being a fame whore is much different from being an artist. As impatient as I am for new music, videos, interviews, and a tour, the unselfish part of me is rejoicing in the PROCESS Adam has been experiencing while recording. Every day brings new confirmation in my mind that just as his promo connections like Lindsey, Jim C, etc helped put the word out on the illigitimacy of the bastard albums, the artist connections he is making will aid the longevity and success of his career.

I will say that many of us realized that Scotty would win early on. atop.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=ai10&action=display&thread=65

I'm ecstatic for Adam! He's living his dream which means making the music he loves AND being famous.
He is not a fame whore, but I recall an interview while he was still on Idol.
The reporter asked why they were on Idol... Gokes and KA both answered with some bullshit about how they weren't in it to be famous...
Adam chimed in and forthrightly declared HE wanted to be famous-- that was why he was on Idol!
I don't think fame is everything to Adam. But fame is exactly what he needed and wanted in order to live his dream life and have the kinds of opportunities he has today. Adam is an entertainer. Of course he wanted--wants-- fame.
Does anyone else remember this article?
