With Kelly and Daughtry, it was like they tweeted the announcement and THE NEXT DAY they were doing radio interviews. One of Daughtry's songs was streaming on the website within 24 hours (the rock one, not the HAC one) after he announced his album drop date and that there would be two singles. It really does happen VERY quickly once the announcement is made. That's why they have to have all their ducks in a row before he sends that tweet. BUT C'MON!!! DON'T KEEP US HANGING FOREVER!!! PLEASE!!!!!! I agree that today is technically Kelly's drop day and they might have him waiting (I don't think the entire week, but at least today). It seems (to my memory), many of the announcements have come on a Tuesday. Kelly's news about her 1st single started on August 11th. This is the schedule for what happened after that: Premier: August 30, 2011 Released: September 5, 2011 Adds Date: September 13, 2011 Video Date: September 26, 2011 Album Date: October 24, 2011 Daughtry's release schedule was much faster than Kelly's, but his single was targeted at HAC first. Since Adam's single is going to be targeted to HAC and Pop, I would expect to see a roll out a little closer to what we saw with Kelly's MKIA. If RCA just throws Adam's Pop single out there in a week, we have bigger problems than the wait! j/s Wiki has it slightly different: "On August 17, 2011, Clarkson revealed that the first single will be "Mr. Know It All," which was set to be released late August. On August 26, 2011, the song leaked online. The song officially impacted Australian radio on August 29, 2011. On August 30, 2011, at 5:30 PM ET, the song was played during a live webcast Clarkson hosted on her official website. The song was available as a digital download from September 5, 2011." Her announcement was 8/17: @kelly_clarkson Kelly Clarkson Finally! My new single is called “Mr. Know It All” and it’s coming to radio very soon. Also, my album, STRONGER, is ... say.ly/vtHBF5 17 Aug via WhoSay August 17 was a Wednesday. I think her's was a little different because she announced in the dead days of summer. There was a little more than a week between tweet and online leak. She was on Seacrest's show on 8/31, so about two weeks after her announcement tweet.

Archuleta's first album after Idol sold well -- about 800,000 copies. His latest album, released last October, tanked; it sold less than 70,000 copies in its first 3 months after release. He was also dropped by Jive Records earlier this year. So his career is in "transition" right now (meaning, he's trying to figure out who he wants to be musically). However, he has a core group of fans who vote like mad in every poll -- IMO his showing in polls like this far outstrips his actual popularity right now. Thanks, Iridium, for the information on Archie. That's kind of what I thought was happening to him. Archie's in concert in my neck of the woods in early December. I'll take my DS 12 who's a fan. We'll see what he thinks after the concert since he's not a record buyer so hasn't listened to his post idol songs and really hasn't seen Archie other than on Idol and iCarly.

Does anyone have these star alignment dates that Adam posted some time in March/April. There was a time to not be creative or roll out new projects. Time to let go of negative influences - cleansing. Wondering whether those dates could explain both the date of the recent unfollow, as well as the time this single will most likely not be rolled out. He is pretty deep into that stuff, I just did not write down those dates. Anybody have them? I believe that was Mercury retrograde, and the next dates are November 23-December 13. Thanks Juniemoon, seems like we should get the single before Nov. 22 then, which is also reasonable given the upcoming Xmas breaks. So, I guess, no new insights here then. Thanks though for helping me with the dates and terminology.

This happened on August 11th: New Kelly Clarkson!!!! So this morning one of the labels came in and played us the brand new track from Kelly Clarkson. I heard the leak a few months ago, and let me tell you this is not it! The track is called "Mr. Know It All" and it is AMAZING! Kelly still has the huge powerful voice, but does some new things with it and incorporates some great drum beats and tempo. In my opinion the background has a "Just the Way You Are" sound and I instantly compared the vocal to Pink, with how raspy Kelly tries to go with it. Unfortunately, I was not allowed to keep the copy, but got to listen to it twice. The single officially drops on AUgust 30th, but as soon as I can put it up here I will and I am sure you will be hearing it on MyFM! www.1043myfm.com/pages/newmusicblog.html Then a couple other radio stations announced information saying they had heard the single. That's why I said we might hear rumblings at the very least two weeks before the actual premier of the single. (It was closer to three weeks for MKIA) I doubt we will get a leak. :( For some reason, all of Kelly's songs are leaked, but that hasn't happened with Adam's songs.

Sorry for dropping some bad news, but what's up with Q102? Now they have erased FYE from their discography list for Adam Lambert and left BFM. It is already reported on AO, just bringing the facts over. www.q102.com/iplaylist/artist/1152615/albums.htmlIs there somebody obstructing the Clear Channel data feeds? Don't want to cause a storm with a station that is pro-Adam, but some kind of response by those who are being followed by Q102 - would be ok, I suppose. Wonder what is going on? ETA: Fixed a few errors

There was a little more than a week between tweet and online leak. She was on Seacrest's show on 8/31, so about two weeks after her announcement tweet. So Kelly's single was released 3 weeks after her announcement, and the radio adds date was a week later. If Adam follows this timing and he announces the single next week (11/1), then the single would be released on 11/22, with a radio add date of 11/30. Does this seem realistic? I would think RCA wants the single out to radio no later than mid-November; a post-Thanksgiving add date seems too late, since stations will be shifting to holiday formats. I'm beginning to think that the single won't be introduced until January. If my thinking about timing is faulty, please talk me down -- I would love to be wrong. ETA: Also wondering whether at this point Adam will have time to prepare for TV appearances in November/December. Does he even have a band anymore? Cam is touring, I think Isaac is too, and if the rift with Monte is true, the only one left is Tommy. It takes time to audition, hire and rehearse a band. And Adam is still working on the album ...

@lyndseyparker Um, the volume needs to be turned up on this @nilerodgers / @adamlambert jam NOW. new.music.yahoo.com/blogs/realityrocks/422791/reason-to-freak-out-adam-lambert-enters-studio-with-nile-rogers/ 47 minutes ago Reason To Freak Out: Adam Lambert Enters Studio with Nile Rogers....Yes, fans of always-chic electro Idol Lambert, and of awesome music in general, had much to squee about this past weekend--after Adam, Nile, and frequent Adam collaborator Sam Sparro exchanged tweets over a couple days in a pulse-quickening buildup to a soon-to-be-legendary jam session. The results of their weekend labor were then posted on YouTube--and while the clip is a huge tease, since its sound is switched off to "protect the integrity of the song," Nile and Adam certainly seem to be having a blast in the studio and getting, to quote Madonna, into the groove. . Considering Nile's impeccable flair for crafting pop/rock/funk/dance music with both mainstream appeal and a certain tastemaker-friendly coolness factor--much of it recorded by iconic artists whom Adam has cited as personal influences--the potential for epic-ness here is major. I can only imagine how much everyone is going to le-freak out once the volume is finally cranked up on this: .

I know. If he didn't have every last note clamped down tighter than a submarine hatch maybe we wouldn't be so damn stir crazy. Not saying I want every song he's recorded to leak (like Kelly's did), but would teensy listen here or there would provide some distraction and give us a clue about the sound.
