durberville, that's a really old interview! It is being "dug up" now to make fun of Durbin because his first single is a Pop song!!   OH!! I had no idea!! *embarrassed I jump on anything negative about this guy....He just makes me see red for some reason. Sorry people (in my defense, it wasn't presented as "old news") Hahaha! but I can see why it's resurfacing now, considering Durbin's first single. ...and LindaG23 yes....just what are these kids reading? As mys*&@^#r very clearly stated earlier in the thread, IF we don't hear anything by the end of next week, AND timing remains consistent with how Kelly, Daughtry, Cook, Avril, etc. released, coupled with the holiday freeze, then January is the next logical leap. Twitter worriers didn't need to get any ideas from Atop, they had already started the worrying. Yes, it's worrying and yes, it's spinning worst-case scenarios, but those that have been spun before (2012! 8 weeks! No Longer! October! No longer! November! ... *crickets* on Oct. 24 ...) have come true up until now, as much as I hate to admit that. The worriers have been right far more than the optimists in this little predication game. |

Just saw this on twitter.....WHAT A JERK!! (Listen to what Durbin says about Adam) (OH...and to my horror - I've have people tweet me to ask if I'm a James Durbin fan because of my moniker. EGADS!! Was only talking about single roll-out, not album. No, I don't quite believe that Adam has the powers to influence which quarter his album comes out, I know my name is craazy, but not that craaaaazy quite yet.
And btw, I consider that the good news that RCA is making the decision, because otherwise Mr Perfection might record 100 tracks with every genius alive on this planet without giving us anything but muted youtubes for years to come.
But I thought that while he was still recording and starting to lay out his November / December promotion schedule in detail, that he just might have looked into the stars for some guidance. I totally would not put that past him. Turns out the way the dates align, the stars tell not much more than stay away from the Xmas season with your single, which is something he most certainly was able to figure without that celestial guidance too.
Re: BFM, not seeing it on my own local Clear Channel page or their central one. Only find it on Q102 right now, but thought it was wider earlier. It may have changed during the day. Not sure.
My text said that the one or two folks who were followed by the station might be able to do an individual tweet, I did not see anyone here today asking for sending anything to radio in general. Where are you reading that this is happening? BFM has not been discussed here all day, except for that one report about Q102 that I brought over. Those tweets if they are happening are not sourced from here. Did I miss something or are you referring to something else?
But I do find it rather odd that on Q102 FYE was taken out of their discography and BFM left in. I am not following enough artists to have any feel for whether such succession of screw-ups is normal for artists or whether Adam is hit with an unusual amount of them and we fans are just very alert and anxious and therefore picking up on everything.
Anyways, luckily the album is right now sent to DOD, which hopefully reduces those unintentional mass purchases sufficiently.
I think we will fight it again in Feb / March in some form or other, but they know now they cannot advertise anything as new or official and that will limit their impact. Adam will be all over TV announcing and performing the new stuff, it should work out ok.

I was one of the cock eyed optimists, saying no way would Adam miss the Christmas sales! :-/ Now I'm saying, No way will Adam miss the gift card single buying week after Chrustmas sales.  |

Well you got me there --  But many of those predictions were for a February release -- and that is not happening. Looks like March-April for the album now. Personally, I am tired of trying to figure out the when and certainly not going to worry about it. IF the lead single was released in late August, then why bother having Adam work with Pharrell Williams to record the potential lead single in September/October? IF the album was set for 11.21.11 release, then the Nile Rodgers-Adam collaboration would not have been very likely. Something very right about that happening so perhaps the later date may be for the best. Anyway I have decided to suspend logic for Adam #2 -- and just trust that it will all be OK. I really believe that Adam has a "guardian angel" watching out for him. |

It didn't just start today and it most certainly did not originate from ATOP! Sadly, your last statement is a valid point.  Wait! Why March-April? Where did that date come from? The last dates we heard were from the two top dogs at RCA and they said sometime in February or March. Don't add time!  |
