Archuleta's first album after Idol sold well -- about 800,000 copies. His latest album, released last October, tanked; it sold less than 70,000 copies in its first 3 months after release. He was also dropped by Jive Records earlier this year. So his career is in "transition" right now (meaning, he's trying to figure out who he wants to be musically). However, he has a core group of fans who vote like mad in every poll -- IMO his showing in polls like this far outstrips his actual popularity right now. This is another one of those media articles that takes certain parts of other articles and then makes something up out of thin air in an effort to get hits to their site. (kind of like the "Lady Gaga wants to sing the lead in the Queen tribute band" article someone brought over here  ) The best thing to do is go and read the actual reviews that pop2it pulled their comments from. Brian Mansfield actually gave Kelly a good review, saying: Allison Stewart also had some positive things to say in her review: Now, Andy Gill didn't give Kelly a good reveiw at all. He gave her a 1 out of 5 stars, but he hates everything that is considered mainstream music. Gill gave Adele's 21, 2 stars. Enough said! :  Kelly's album has good reviews form Brenna Rushing, John Myers and Shirley Halperin as well as favorable reviews from online sites such as All Music, Trash Lounge and The Round Table. Slant magazine, just posted their review of "Stronger" and gave it 3.5/5 satrs. All this to say, some media outlets (such as pop2it) compile information or exclude information so that they can get the sensational headline. We need to watch for that too when Adam's album is released! |

Archie winning 90% of the votes would fittingly reflect the absurdity of the contest. yup. and it would be better to put energy into writing in the People's Choice Awards IMO.
