This is OT, but thought we might want to revisit this link after Adam releases his album in a few months. Chart for iTunes stores worldwide: www.apple.com/euro/itunes/charts/top10albums.htmlI had no idea that Coldplay was this huge around the world! :oI also found it interesting that Kelly Clarkson isn't at the top off many of these countries' top ten albums. It will be exciting to see this same chart in February-March to see what type of impact Adam #2 has on the markets outside of the US!!! Most of these countries are from Europe. In Europe everything that it huge in the UK rules in the rest of Europe. The majority of people in Europe watch the UK artists. American Idol's singers are not considered something important here. If they make it, they make it because they had good records after idol, like Daughtry or Kelly and probably the people here don't know that Daughtry was on idol. The opposite of what you're showing here is Muse. Muse were huge for years and years in Europe. Toured everywhere very succefully. I was really surprised when Adam mentioned for the first time that he was going to sing Starlight by Muse and almost nobody except from the music industry people knew who they were. As I understood they made it in the US because of the Twighlight movies. So, my point is that Adam HAS to succeed in the UK. HE just has to. I hope he does.

I second that, gelly. Here, the radio plays pretty much whatever is played in the UK.

It was explained here that Radio 1 is the key to success in UK. They refused to embrace Adam and I wonder if they would change their minds for Adam#2. Obviously, lots going on behinds closed doors... can RCA or DMG break the resistance?

Obviously, I am not Adele's Dr.. but, it didn't sound like her problem was/is the same as J.Andrews.. No, I'm sure they're not (especially how Julie explains it in the passage), the heartbreak is still the same, I'm sure. Julie's came after years and years of singing and she still described it as "devastating." The throat is such a sensitive area. My step-mom had some nodules or growths in her throat and they were growing quite fast and threatening to cut off her airway. The doctors weren't even able to tell if they were cancerous or not because apparently, the placement was in such a risky area that no surgeons would touch it even to do a biopsy. If she didn't have an emergency tracheotomy, she her airway would have closed. She hasn't been able to speak above a whisper for years.

Kelly is doing well in the UK, but not as well in most of the other European countries. Adam was a big hit in some of the other countries listed on this chart, he just didn't do well in the UK. Are you thinking that the other countries in Europe will pick up on Kelly's success so far in the UK, and follow their lead?

Adam was a big hit in some countries but unfortunately it stays in the particular country. Europe watches MTV UK. And the UK has so many UK X Factor artists that they have to promote , also the artists that come from Britain's Got Talent, so it's really hard.Last year BBC radio admitted it, when they were asked by fans why they don't play Adam so much. They said that they want to promote UK artists, UNLESS they become really big like Gaga. And about Kelly, I honestly don't know.

Courtney Love replied to Adam about Halloween dress up. She follows him but Adam doesn't follow her, so I don't know if he will see it.

Adam has been successful in many European countries. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Whataya_Want_from_MeIt would be very nice, if he is successful in England, but in my opinion not necessary. But you are right, many of european stars are English, but probably the language is one of the important reasons here. English artist are all singing in english. It makes their music more accessible. You get used to the sound of English at a very young age though at least music in English and even if you don't understand everything it sounds familiar. But hearing something in a foreign language is very strange, in the beginning at least. And if you don't give it a second or third try, will not get familiar to it. There are of course exceptions. I only know one German group, which is very popular internationally at the moment, Tokio Hotel, and as much as I know, they release their albums in two languages, German for the german speaking areas and English for the rest of the world. But most of the foreign artists are American not English (I am sure if it is true for all European countries). They and their labels are able to earn a lot more money because of the huge US market. So they also have a lot more money avaible for promo. I know i have read it somewhere a long time ago, but I don't remember where. ETA:Gelly, MTV UK thing you mentioned, can also explained with the language. No one outside of the German speaking area would MTV Germany. But, yes, this makes UK more influential than any other European country.
