I was thinking we might get a pic of his sweet potato casserole. IDT I've ever eaten cooked chard. Down here it's either turnip or collard greens. Sweet potato casserole is up now too but I haven't figured out how to bring something over on my phone. I'll figure it out one of these days! I'm sure someone will!🤩

Hope everyone has had a fabulous Thanksgiving.
I'm thankful for having discovered Adam late last year and this wonderful, welcoming community soon after.
Who knew that going to see Bohemian Rhapsody when I didn't really want to see it would uncover this whole new magical world I had been oblivious of

Happy Thanksgiving to everyone on Atop! I'm thankful for friends, family, health, and of course, Adam. Especially thankful since I live less than 2 miles from the petrochemical plant explosion in Port Neches, Texas. It woke me up at 1:00 a.m., but I wasn't sure what it was. I live in an old house and I thought maybe a raccoon or something got in my attic LOL!!! I was too scared to get up in the dark to check it out. When I got up for work the next morning the door to the attic was open, which has never happened before. I assume it was blown open. I saw the thick, black smoke on my way to work, but didn't find out what happened until I got to work. Anyway, after work I went to my Mom's and there was a second explosion at 1:45 p.m. Then they ordered a mandatory evacuation in a 4 mile radius around the refinery. So I've been at my Mom's since then. People who lived 1/2 mile from the refinery have major damage to their homes. It blew one resident's front door about 5 feet into their home. Some ceilings caved in. One local credit union had all their windows blown out. Some older homes on piers were knocked off the piers. My Mom lives about 10 miles away and they felt and were woken up by the explosion.
They are still trying to put out the fire and keep nearby refineries from catching fire too. Pretty scary stuff, not to mention the toxic chemicals being released into our air. Thankfully only 3 injuries and all were minor to plant personnel. Also, a few people with cuts from flying glass. Seeing videos of the second explosion with large pieces of the smokestacks being launched into the air like rockets, it is a miracle no one was seriously injured or killed. Nothing says Thanksgiving quite like an evacuation LOL!!! I hope everyone had a safe and happy Thanksgiving.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone! nic42 - That was a lovely interview and the art - oh my - beautiful. I haven't painted my room yet but keep the Adam art you made for when that happens and for my paint color inspiration. augenpoesie - I just knew that was your photograph, so evocative. I love your photos which I always find to be very meditative. Dear Linda, thank you so so much 😍😘

I had a delightful chat with a certain professional opera singer today. I admit I may have pumped her a bit about some concerns we have had about Adam and his voice recently (cold weather, illness). She actually laughed. Said we don't have to worry about Adam's voice. Said Adam knows how to take care of his voice and does so very well. He would never do anything to harm it, as he knows what he's got.
One of his performances just before he had to cancel due to illness, some of us noticed he sounded not quite up to his norm. She said if he had a stomach bug it would have been very difficult for him to sing. Singing as he does requires a great deal of energy and stamina which illness would deprive him of. But, not to worry. He was wise to cancel until he got healthy again.
Also said she is hearing new techniques and is sure he is working with a vocal coach, as some of you had wondered.
She speaks about him as a Singer. As in, "We singers know.... We singers do...." I pointed out that many singers don't know and don't do what Adam does. She clarified that she puts Adam in the category of professional, formally trained opera singers and the like, not pop celebrities. A Singer recognizes one of their own. Smile.
