I had a delightful chat with a certain professional opera singer today. I admit I may have pumped her a bit about some concerns we have had about Adam and his voice recently (cold weather, illness). She actually laughed. Said we don't have to worry about Adam's voice. Said Adam knows how to take care of his voice and does so very well. He would never do anything to harm it, as he knows what he's got. One of his performances just before he had to cancel due to illness, some of us noticed he sounded not quite up to his norm. She said if he had a stomach bug it would have been very difficult for him to sing. Singing as he does requires a great deal of energy and stamina which illness would deprive him of. But, not to worry. He was wise to cancel until he got healthy again. Also said she is hearing new techniques and is sure he is working with a vocal coach, as some of you had wondered. She speaks about him as a Singer. As in, "We singers know.... We singers do...." I pointed out that many singers don't know and don't do what Adam does. She clarified that she puts Adam in the category of professional, formally trained opera singers and the like, not pop celebrities. A Singer recognizes one of their own. Smile. I'm very late to this thread, but want to say that one of the many things I'm thankful for is that you share your musical knowledge with us!
