Would you take similar offense to one of Adam's "Bitch, please" or "Dance, bitches"? I love Adam but I do not like everything he says or does. The same goes for this website - I love it but I don't always like or appreciate everything I see come across my screen. More and more we are being subtly forced (I know, oxymoron) to accept the unacceptable. Well not really because as long as you have free will and the use of your hands and mind you can always decide for yourself what you will subject yourself too. No one is forced to be on this or any message board. I took a break from here for about five months and came back because I wasn't able to find a better group of people who were funny, open minded and liked adam as much as I do. Yes, I still get irritated and still say the wrong things but hey people seem to accept my personality for the most part around here and I try my best to do the same for them. |

KIIS LA just announced their Jingle Ball line-up. This is so beneath Gaga, it amazes me. As close to "payola" as radio play can get! Lady Gaga will be headlining KIIS FM’s Jingle Ball, held on Saturday (December 3) at the Nokia Theatre L.A. Live in Los Angeles!
Also performing: David Guetta, Gym Class Heroes, Sean Paul, Flo Rida, Taio Cruz, Big Time Rush, and Karmin!I agree... I noticed Kelly Clarkson is doing Jingle balls this year too, which she hasn't done since the beginning of her career. |

Gaga has the line "cause I'm a free Bitch, baby" in her most popular song. Much of her concert merchandise (T shirts, posters, headbands, bracelets,etc.) had the words "free bitch". I saw countless people at her concert with those exact words written on their costumes or on their body. (male and females) These words weren't taken to be derogatory in this setting, they were being used as a term of empowerment. |

If you want radio play, you have to play the game. Gaga is dropping a new single (today) and Kelly has just started her quest for radio spins this era. No one is too good or too famous to escape the fact that they need to court the radio stations. She did, but now she is in the middle of promoting her second album. She still has singles coming out and she is planning for her worldwide tour. Gaga is doing promo like everyone else does. Your more popular artist like Kesha, Bruno, Gaga only take about 6 months off. (and Rihanna never takes a break :  ) I bet Katy Perry only takes six months off before her next album, and she has constantly been on the radio for a year and a half! |

Cassie, I have to agree with you, I also felt a twinge at the use of the feminine term to criticize Perez's behavior. While it is true our language has evolved, and much of that evolution has been to stop denigrating the female half of the population, there is still a way to go. Unfortunately (IMHO) that evolution has also included adding a coarseness to the language with the common use of profanity in nearly every sentence. Although profanity has also evolved, much of it started out as mysogynistic (WAY BACK when I was a kid and establishing speech habits), which is the reason I made a conscious decision to pretty much eliminate it from my vocabulary.
And bringing this back to Adam, as much as I love the GNT DVD, I won't play it when the grandkids are around due to the two instances of profanity in it. I know that kids all use those terms today, but I choose not to reinforce it ... other people make different choices, and they have the right to do so.

On the language discussion, I am kind of shocked at all the cuss words being used on TV these days. I watched a sitcom that was on at 7:00 p.m, and they said Ass, and referred to having sex with a sock. The standards for children's programming during "family hour" have gone out the window!
