Jingle Bell Balls aren't beneath any artist. Katy Perry did them last year. If you want radio play, you have to play the game. Gaga is dropping a new single (today) and Kelly has just started her quest for radio spins this era. No one is too good or too famous to escape the fact that they need to court the radio stations. She did, but now she is in the middle of promoting her second album. She still has singles coming out and she is planning for her worldwide tour. Gaga is doing promo like everyone else does. Your more popular artist like Kesha, Bruno, Gaga only take about 6 months off. (and Rihanna never takes a break : ) I bet Katy Perry only takes six months off before her next album, and she has constantly been on the radio for a year and a half! Katy took 2 years off between albums. When did Gaga take a vacation? I guess I missed it. Gaga's album is well past the "promo" stage, IMO. I have to disagree. I think this Jingle Ball is beneath her! Between her Monster Ball tour and this last album. I said that Katy Perry wil probably only take six months off before she puts out her next album. I didn't say anything about how much time she took off between her last two albums. The pop world has changed and is changing more and more over to a singles market. Things are very different from when KP released her album four years ago. Katy is a smart girl, and I'm sure she will consider how the pop landscape has changed since last time she was between albums. KP might do like Bruno or Kelly C. and do a bunch of collabs between albums. BTW, Katy Perry headlined the KIIS JBB last year. Was that appearance "beneath her"? I don't think she suffered any fallout from this JBB appearance over this past year!

For you real show biz experts on this board, I have a question about Perez Hilton. I never heard of him, I don't think, before I got interested in Adam a couple of years ago (not that that means anything). Does he actually have any influence? He seems to think he is Tony Curtis in The Sweet Smell of Success. So do people actually listen to Perez, and if so, who? Or is he strictly a bottom-feeder? When I first heard of Perez, he was a big, fat kid who started writing a gossip column out of some restaurant in LA? NY? Can't remember which. I think it was Gaga that would go to the restaurant and talk to him. It was some female singer. Next thing I knew he was hanging with Gaga at some of her concerts and vacationing with her. He just started upward after that until he became what he is today. He has been slowly losing weight and getting better looking as the last three years have progressed. That is what I remember about Perez. I am old and may have forgotten some things. Sorry.

I'm more inclined to consider the source and their intention. I find the imposition of political correctness more offensive. Oh, this, this, a thousand times this. Intent is everything. I hate being in a situation where I have to second guess myself before I speak because some hypersensitive person may possibly take offense to something I say, usually because they are looking a bit too hard for a reason to be offended. If you look closely enough at anything it can be wanked to be offensive when it is abundantly clear that no offense was intended. If I want to offend you there will be no doubt, trust me. But if I am speaking casually I do not want my every word parsed to death back to its language of origin and meaning throughout the ages. My language is full of idioms, regional slang, throw away comments, and other peculiar speech patterns unique to me. I feel that the USA has already gone too far with the PC crap and hate to see individuality and colorful speech compromised any further. Some of the most interesting people I have ever know used some very odd language and I for one embrace that whole heartedly. This is not to say that I have never had to rethink my use of a word. But by and large I personally believe that words only have the power that we give them and so I choose to speak colorfully and with abandon and wish to holy hell that everyone else would do the same. It is hard enough to communicate effectively without such ridiculous restrictions. YMMV

I wonder where Sauli taped the new tutka. Who's guitar is that in the background? I don't think that is Adam's house. The window shades do not "fit" the house. Hmmm, maybe they did go to NYC? Has anyone seen any publicity from Heidi's NY party? The window shades do fit. Check it again. ;D

It was 11:20 AM for Sauli when they finished it. Katri's time was 8:20 PM. OK! I guess they were in LA then. And after that, with the timezones, would have been too late for them to go to NYC. So I guess Adam did not go to any of Heidi's parties. Oh.. I just noticed that there are two different new Tutkas Today. In the first part Sauli confirmed that they didn't go to Heidi's party. He also talked about his twitter and silver pants etc... And he used several times the word "we" , but then mostly corrected it to "I" . : Here is the part 1 : www.iltasanomat.fi/videot/viihde/tanssi-tutka-tuomarit-ovat-aivan-liian-negatiivisia/vid-1288425081996.html

I agree... I noticed Kelly Clarkson is doing Jingle balls this year too, which she hasn't done since the beginning of her career. Your more popular artist like Kesha, Bruno, Gaga only take about 6 months off. (and Rihanna never takes a break : ) I bet Katy Perry only takes six months off before her next album, and she has constantly been on the radio for a year and a half! I didn't mean to imply Kelly is above doing Jingle Balls, just that she hasn't done them since the beginning of her career which shows you how different the market is today and/or how different her promo strategy is for this album is.

For those who would like to dig a little deeper into the language discussion, I found a long but excellent article about it: On "Bitch" and Other Misogynistic Language: shakespearessister.blogspot.com/2007/11/on-bitch-and-other-misogynist-language.htmlThe above article discusses several of the points raised here, including the "PC police" argument in favor of using such terms. Really worth reading if you have an open mind on the issue.

I like to read posts written "colorfully and with abandon," but I also like when people who have sincere critiques post them, too. They're both interesting.
