There are points that I agree with on both sides of this language issue. Does that make me wishywashy... or open-minded?
I do think there is nothing wrong with a bit of political correctness, if not taken to the extreme.
"Bitchy little girl" IMO reinforces a stereotype about women that many of us have struggled against for much of our lives-- weak, spiteful, gossipy and mean. I've known men who could give us gals a lesson or two in spiteful and weak. I put that in the same category as... Hmmm... "inscrutable Asian"-- which, believe it or not, I have been called. Stereotype. Dont like it.
I don't take offense at the word bitch.. Is that a contradiction to what I just said? I don't think so. Any more than the word inscrutable is offensive on its own.

This is coming completely out of left field, but I found myself reading Cher's Wiki page just now and these two statements caught my eye: Reminds me of a certain someone

I don't see where Gaga took any break at all. According to Wikipedia, the last Monster Ball was May 6, 2011. Born this Way was released May 23, 2011 - I don't really consider 2 weeks to be a break or vacation for an artist. I was referring to the break that she took as far as releasing singles to radio. The last single off of Fame Monster was released on April 10, 2011. There was a year break before BTW was released to radio. (Katy P. had the exact same amount of time between releases of singles from her last and current album.) I didn't think anyone here was following her around the world on her 200 date tour or even keeping track of anything about her tour. I guess it wouldn't be much of a "break" if you were a Little Monster and you followed all the news and videos of every concert. For casual fans, (who didn't watch youtube videos 5 to 6 times a week for 18 months) Gaga took a break. Rihanna has not had a break. She has released a single, one right after the other, for over two years now. At this rate, it looks as if Bruno Mars may not take a break from radio. If you count the two collabs Katy Perry had that did well in some other countries like the UK and Australia, then KP hasn't had a break AT ALL from radio since June 2008. Oh, you mean the 5 million worldwide albums she has sold or the fact that she is nearing double platinum in the US? Or the three top 10 hits she has had from this album, so far. Or the fact that these singles have sold twice as much outside of the US? Lackluster? LOL! I'll take half of those numbers for Adam for this next era! We're talking GaGa?.......SCROLLING IS MY FRIEND![/size]

I have an easier time being friends with men than women because, sad as it is to say, women tend to tear each other down with petty bullshit. --------------------------------- On the topic of Adam and his O award, it's very cool that he's getting press for winning the must follow twitter person... to me that's better than the fan army award because winning the twitter award will likely encourage new followers, which will expand his fanbase.

Or the fact that these singles have sold twice as much outside of the US? Lackluster? LOL! I'll take half of those numbers for Adam for this next era! I guess we're hitting a nerve with you on this Sorry, but we just see this very differently. An artist is taking a break when they are pretty much out of the public eye for a period of time - ie Kelly Clarkson took a "break" and was pretty much gone other than occasional play of her older songs on the radio. Gaga has never gone away in the last 3 years. Her last Fame single may have been a year before BTW, but all those songs were played constantly on the radio (no escape anywhere!) and she was all over TV and the news. Much of the "news" about her was deliberately created by her, not just interest in her because her last album was so very, very big (ie the stupid egg stunt, the meat dress, giving interviews how her next album was going to save the world or something, and so on) She comes across as having to always be the center of attention and needy. I consider the BTW album "lackluster" both personally (I'm just not impressed) and in comparison to Fame - sure it has sold a lot, but it is selling based on it being "Gaga" not because it is great. It is popular and IN to love Gaga and it got a lot of sales just based on that - people bought it without even hearing it in pre-sales and a TON of people bought it on Amazon because it was so cheap that if you thought you might buy 1 or 2 singles you might as well just buy the album. I sincerely doubt any of the singles from this album will be around and being played on the "Classic hits" stations in 20 years, but I am certain they will be playing Bad Romance & Paparazzi. I'm just really disappointed with her - I really liked her 2 years ago. The music was good and she was interesting. Now the music is just OK and she seems to have bought so into her own hype to the extent that she is nothing but a characature. I think that she WAS well on her way to actually being a long-term megastar but this oversaturation and not taking the time (or effort) to put out really exceptional music may in the end just turn her into a joke. I keep wishing she would take a break and really look at her whole persona and think about the music and come back with a new era that is totally new. To bring this back to Adam - although the wait for this album has been dificult, I am really happy that he is taking his time and focusing on the music. In the end, that is his real product and it needs to be good in order to have the longevity he wants. He may not actually care about being a mega-superstar or iconic (that's just something a lot of fans want for him - I don't think he has ever said one way or the other) but he could have a long, good career like many other "pop stars" who are not Madonna or MJ or Elvis as long as he keeps making good music.
