For you real show biz experts on this board, I have a question about Perez Hilton. I never heard of him, I don't think, before I got interested in Adam a couple of years ago (not that that means anything). Does he actually have any influence? He seems to think he is Tony Curtis in The Sweet Smell of Success.
So do people actually listen to Perez, and if so, who? Or is he strictly a bottom-feeder?

People love listening to artist's dirty laundry.
Perez does just that. His blog became famous because of this.
He tries to dig into every artists life except Gaga. He adores Gaga.
He protects Gaga when other artists try to take her place.
When Perez did the interview with Adam and Adam said something about Jessie J, Perez immediately tried to say that she's mmm not that good.
So mostly artists are afraid of him and that's why they invite him to parties etc.
If he likes them he licks their ass. If he doesn't he IS an ass.
He was a bully for years and years. Even to his own people (meaning the gay guys- he was forcing them to come out by being a bully)
Last year he begged Ellen to come to her show just to say that he's changed. Ellen accepted his "change" but she was talking to him like she didn't believe him.Ellen doesn't like Perez and she said so many times. Ellen was right.
Perez did just that for a brief amount of time.
He turned to a bully again.
I'm sure Adam never revealed anything to him. Adam is too smart for Perez.
Also I found out from fye this morning that Kesha unfollowed Perez too, although I don't know when. Perez still follows Kesha.
I like Kesha even more now. I think when Adam talked about Kesha and her being real, among all the bs that is all over the music business , knew what he was talking about.
I'm super happy that Adam unfollowed him.
And one thing more, although I might be waaay off here.
I think Adam realizes more and more his power and he knows he doesn't need Perez to become more famous.

I think Perez believes he has a lot of influence and I've seen comments (elsewhere) that some people think Adam should be nice to Perez because Perez is so influential. I don't believe this for a second. He was brutal to Kesha and she did just fine. He has been very unkind to Kelly about her new single and her album. I'm pretty sure she just blows him off. I truly believe Adam's success this era will come down to how good the music is, not anything Perez says about him. |

I don't think so because his tweet said phone interviews. The OMA is a video thank you. I really think the phone interviews were for radio, which implies single promo. I hope!  |

Perez is a bully, and like all those who have gone before, he gains his power because people allow it. It always puts me in mind of athletes who get a $100mil contract. If the coaches and owners stood together and refused to pay it and didn't outbid one another, salaries would be reasonable. Every bully in school is empowered by his sycophants, as is Perez. He is nothing more than a whiny, bitchy little girl who does everything but shout, "Look at me, look at me." And you're right, he's been trying to get into Adam's pants since day #1. Is that crude? Sorry, it's true. Let 100, even 50, other celebs have the guts to unfollow him and see how much power he wields. |

I don't follow the Hollywood celebrity scene, so this is an uninformed opinion, but...
If you look at Perez, if you watch him, if you listen to him, he is ridiculous. He may find/invent dirt on various celebrities and blab about it on his blog or wherever, and people will eat it up, because they love to read about dirt and celebrities. Some have made their entire career about it. Real housewives? Kardasians?
But, do people take Perez and his opinions seriously? How can they when he is so ridiculous? If Perez slams an album, I think people are likely to go listen to it just to see what he is talking about. I don't think anyone would think, "Oh, well, if Perez doesn't like it, it MUST be lousy, because Perez is such a great musician and critic."
When it comes to slinging dirt, Perez is probably first tier. When it comes to his opinions of others, I think few are influenced.

Since Adam will be 30 in January, I hope there is a huge birthday party for him and Perez isn't invited.
Yes, I'm 12 and I am also a bitchy little girl. Perez makes my skin crawl.

I have to agree with all of you, Gelly, Kathleen, Lifeguard. Perez is and always has been a bully of the first order because way back then, his blog was almost the only one out there and the more he dissed artists the more hits he had and the more money he made.
At one time he was in the top earners in Hollywood, because he always found dirt on everyone possible and posted it. I think that now with so many bloggers out there, he is having a harder time making the money he once made. This, perhaps was the reason for the so-called change to a nicer person, but Ellen and obviously Kesha and Adam don't believe him, so he has gone back to being a bully.
I have friends who always read his blog and took his word on everything. I laughed at them, because they did not understand really what he was doing...making a living as a scumbug. They no longer give him hits and I rarely read his stuff because so much of it is just mean.
I really think with the x-factor influence he is trying again to make up some of the money he appears to be losing and unfortunately Adam, being the nice guy he, is fell into his Stacy jab. I think Adam now understands what went on....Simon Cowell and Perez style publicity.
I hope more artists unfollow him.
Oh and yes his crush on Adam is a well known fact. The green monster is showing now that Adam is in a happy relationship.
