I think Katy Perry's strategy made a lot of sense. Sure would like to sit in on one of those listening parties

Thank you for looking this up and posting it. Although the possible damages don't seem huge, they are still damages that will have to be paid if Adam loses this case. Whether he wins or loses, he will also incur legal bills defending against this claim. Even if his label foots the bill, it will still be deducted from Adam's earning. That just sucks!Does this mean that you don't have in the USA insurances covering the costs due to a law suit? In Finland almost everyone has an insurance which covers legal bills and VIP persons have additional insurances covering other damages if they lose the lawsuit. There are of course limits depending on how expensive insurance you have. Excellent question. I'm sure the large corporations have insurance coverage but in this case, if I read it correctly, Adam is being sued "solely" and not his label. I hope he has some kind of coverage because this slime ball will probably not go away easily and the legal costs add up very quickly. Do we have any lawyers among us who can tell us more?

It'll get sorted out. I'm sure RCA has a legal team ready and waiting. That be Adam and his legal team on the throne..

I know nothing about law, but isn't "copright infringement" when someone uses something that you have copyrighted? For instance, if Adam had relased those old songs, but the BFM people actually owned them, then that would be copyright infringement. But Adam hasn't released anything so how can he be infringing on their copyrights? If they think he is impeding the sales, I am pretty sure that has a completely different name, not "copyright infirngement." Q3, used the term once, but I can't remember what it is. And, Adam's Tweets were pretty mild. He never said or even implied that no one should buy these recordings. He just explained they were old and do not reflect his curent music. "Anything for a buck, fuck." Is not telling people not to buy these. I don't think this guy has a leg to stand on. That seems to be the general concensus of various lawyers in the fandom on twitter. Hedged of course that they don't know the details of the case! I haven't seen any that think this is likely to a problem - just an annoyance and Adam probably has good lawyers who will handle it for him. I just checked the Copy Right infringement laws and they all have to do with someone using something that you have a copyright on, including #504. Makes no sense! :-/

jesslala, I'd never heard Love of my Life before. It's beautiful and I'd love to hear Adam sing it. (But, then again, I'd love to hear him sing about a thousand songs!)

What a great tribute show this would be if all of the songs on this list were performed in full rather than as a medley. I would absolutely love to hear Adam's rendition of Love of My Life. OMG -- such a better song for Adam then FM signature BR. How 'bout "Who Wants to Live Forever"? Better yet, Bowie makes an appearance and he and Adam do Under Pressure. Just dreaming. Of all things, I heard Under Pressure on the radio today.
