I have to tell someone who will understand (the 4 dogs are just ignoring me now; their bellies are full and they want to nap). Just brought in my mail and I'm flailing so hard! I was already so happy that Adam will be on my tv Sunday, but now my friend's sweet son has surprised me by sending me his copy of The Advocate! I have lots of Adam's pics on my computer, but the hard copy makes me soooo happy. *sitsandstares* Lucky You!!!

jesslala, I'd never heard Love of my Life before. It's beautiful and I'd love to hear Adam sing it. (But, then again, I'd love to hear him sing about a thousand songs!) I hadn't heard it either..thanks, Jesslala! Totally agree Adam would be superb on this ballad, Lynneville...Brain May was virtuoso perfection playing too. Your avi...LOL..BERT'ing are you??? Most Excellent!!

What a great tribute show this would be if all of the songs on this list were performed in full rather than as a medley. I would absolutely love to hear Adam's rendition of Love of My Life. One of my very favorite songs. adam would sound divine on this.

Ugh. Just found out that may be missing all the fun here on Sunday. What happened? Funeral. The older generation in my family is starting to go. [sigh] This one wasn't entirely unexpected. Decline had been harsh the last 5 years. Kinda shocking to watch one of the most quick-witted and vibrant personalities you can imagine grow confused and silent. That said, we weren't expecting this phone call just now. Trying to figure out travel arrangements. Its a long drive, but AmTrak is expensive for last-minute tickets and my mom won't fly. Negotiations are on-going.

I think smart money is on a medley, which would be really great, but if we were to choose one song then simply from the standpoint of world wide recognizability, suitability to the moment (honoring Queen, celebratory, 'good time tonight), suitability to the fabulous potential of Adam's voice, and suitability to AFL himself (Mr. Fahrenheit) and this moment in his life and career, I'd go with "Don't Stop Me Now."
I can't even imagine how unbelievable Adam would sound singing that. Nothing could stop him then. (He's "a shaman on a ship to the moon", after all, and "he's cocked and ready to go"!)

I'm sitting in the bleachers watching middle school basketball and the band started playing We Will Rock You. It made me ridiculously happy . Sooooo looking forward to Sunday! I soooooooooo hope this is what is actually happening (Adam w/ Queen). YES!!!! As we speak, Adam is sitting in Brian May's mansion, and Roger Taylor is there, too, and Brian is asking Adam to run through a dozen or so of Queen's most famous songs (as per Brian's suggestion last summer when he contacted Adam and told him he wanted him to sing at the EMA tribute thingie in November) Adam is singing We Will Rock You... and Brian May is all And Adam is singing Under Pressure... and Brian is all And Adam is singing Killer Queen... and Brian is all And Adam is singing Crazy Little Thing... and Brian is all And Adam is singing Don't Stop me Now, and Brian is all And Adam is singing Somebody to Love, and Brian is all And Brian and Roger (as we speak!!) are getting on the phone to the EMA producers and saying, "Cancel all the other tribute singers... WE DON'T NEED THEM AND WE DON'T WANT THEM!!!" And they have SERIOUS HEARTS IN THEIR EYES!!! And Adam is all aww shucks: Then on Sunday Adam does the ENTIRE QUEEN TRIBUTE ALL BY HIMSELF and the world as we know it ends. heh heh... (and James Durbin goes back to pumping gas...)

Like everyone else, I've been trying to pick the best Queen song for Adam. I ran across this bit of info and was shocked by it. Another site claimed this video virtually ended Queen's career in the US. (I lost that link. ) I Want to Break Free
The song is largely known for its music video for which all the band members dressed in women's clothes, a concept proposed by Roger Taylor, which parodied the long-running British soap opera Coronation Street. Mercury also wore women's outfits in many live performances of the song. The second part of the video included a composition rehearsed and performed with the Royal Ballet and choreographed by Wayne Eagling. Whereas the parody was acclaimed in the UK, it was considered controversial in the US and banned by MTV and other stations. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/I_Want_to_Break_Free
