As an Adam fan, I've learned to keep my hopes aimed low because no matter how much we tweet and beg the various awards shows to feature him or recognize him, it doesn't happen. You might live in a different planet than me, then, because Adam is WAY regognized. Who was the first artist of the month on that VH1 social media hub thingy? Who got both True Hollywood Story and Behind the Music? Who's every move is paparazzi fodder? Adam is a newcomer, coming from a reality show, with one album and one medium hit under his belt. He has a nice regognition going on all over the world, a fruitful basis to become an actual worldvide household name. He has done GOOD. I keep my expectations high, because generally speaking, no expectations means no results. And about shows not regognizing him... That's nothing compared for the true angst that comes from your idol actually crashing and burning. I confess that I used to fangirl Nsync alumni JC Chasez. Watching his career going nowhere, that was true angst! Compared to that, our stanning is all roses and sunshine I love your post!!  |

We didn't, IIRC. Do you have any idea why? No lol. My guess only? They didn't tweet to eachother so why follow him? From what I can understan Adam follows people only for a reason, friend or business, he doesn't just follow anyone like other artists do. I thought Adam stopped following Gokey right after the Idol tour? :-/ |

I never know what to do with my expectations when it comes to Adam. Dream really big (because with him, anything IS possible), and get disappointed? Keep them small, and then miss out on the excitement?
All I know is, this is the first major music industry awards show Adam has performed on since the show that shall not be named. It's a show of the same calibre. There is the slightest possibility Adam could debut his new single there (but I really don't think so). Either way...it feels like the industry is giving him a second chance to impress them, even if it's just a minute or two in a Queen medley.
My wish: whatever role Adam plays at the EMAs this weekend, I hope that it meets and exceed his, his label's and his friends/families expectations. Whatever those expectations may be. I hope he's happy and not feeling pressured, I hope he's excited but not overly nervous, I hope his voice is in stellar shape, I hope he sings his face off in the best way possible. I hope he has FUN!
(Yes, I've gone from disbelief, to flailling joy, to angst/worry. Another day and I'll be zen again, and then I'll work back up to flail. I'm sure there is an official "stages of Adam excitement" manual out there I should be referring to.)
I sure do love being an Adam-stan.
