Going to sound like entitled fan comment, but: I hope unless Gaga is on piano that Adam and Gaga aren't doing a duet as his only part in the show... I want Adam to finally get a little attention... And thinking about the secrecy of this my new speculation is: Wouldn't it be great if Adam sings with Queen one of the never released Freddie songs as a tribute to Freddie. One that Freddie wrote so he would get writing cred and the ability to have it heard. I think this would be the most fantastic of anything that could happen. We know Freddie fans won't accept someone else trying to replace Freddie, but perhaps if Adam sings a Freddie unreleased song that would help avoid any direct comparison of how Freddie sang it and how Adam sings it cuz Freddie didn't have a chance. *fingers crossed* To me this would be the biggest win-win for Queen, Freddie and Adam! That would be fantastic...so much so that I can't bring myself to even hope for it. At this point, I really have no good guess about what Adam is going to be doing. However, given the tweets from Adam & Co., I have to believe it will be more than a line or two in a medley (not that it won't be a medley, but just that he'll have more than a line or two to sing). I don't think he'd assure us that it'll be "worth it" if that's all he were doing. I'm not saying I think he'll be doing a duet with Gaga on UP (I concede that is doubtful), but if he were, I think he'd be more than able to hold his own with her, unless she resorts to totally unprofessional tactics in order to overshadow him...and while I'm suffering from severe Gaga fatigue and wish she didn't have to be front and center at seemingly every cool music-related opportunity out there, I don't think she'd do that. I don't think I'll be home for the livestream, and don't get MTV3/Tr3s/whatever the hell it is...but I'll be dying to see a YT and read everyone's comments! |

"Twenty-six years and my life is still, trying to get up that great big hill," then a few weeks later AI8 started and the rest is history. It's not even 3 years since he performed at Upright. Amazing.

Gaga has been publicized as doing some of their tour wiht them, so I think it's been more publicized for that reason. I dunno! I'm still sticking with Adam is singing with Queen. Hmm..well Runawaysu and I were kind of going over this theory on twitter, that if everyone knows that there is to be a Queen special tribute, and you have MTVEMA and Shoshanna talking about this huge performance, and all of these artists, Selena Gomez, David Guetta, Adam a saying that it's going to be a big surprise, and even Neil teasing that he knows what's going to happen, I'm wondering if it's something else that's going to be going on that's each in addition to the Queen tribute. Because I think that's hardly a surprise, besides who is going to sing with them, and I don't think that is as big as what all of these people in the know are teasing at. runawaysu susan Why are all the artist's excited for a big surprise at EMAs? What is it? We already know about the Queen tribute! Hmm MarieAru23 Marie @runawaysu hmm..you're right. How about a phantom performance my Freddie? You know one of those Halograms (sp) things.. where Freddie's appearance is projected..singing one of his songs "with" Adam... that would be a BIG surprise. Hi Everyone, Thankyou so much for all the birthday wishes ( and cakes ) I will try and post a bit more now I have dipped my toe in the water. Is it sad to admit that I am more looking forward to Sunday than I was my birthday lolI am sure you will all understand. ;D  |

If I had MY way, Adam would open the show with his new single and close it with Queen and Bowie. I like to dream big! But that's probably not going to happen.
Adam seems excited about the opportunity he's been given, whatever it is. He has a new single coming and a new album on the horizon...and a few days ago, the EMA's weren't anywhere on my radar. So given all that, I'll take what I can get but I'll still dream big in the meantime.

A few things ...
HAPPY BIRTHDAY UGGYBEAR, FANADAMA AND RABBITRABBIT!!!
For those people who have uverse and did the channel search thing and got 506; that was incorrect, it's 507 (on West Coast anyway). Whomever wrote upthread that it was just recently added is correct. I HAVE IT!!! Whoo hooo!! However, it doesn't air here until 6:00 PST, so I'll be watching the stream at 1:00 to see it in real time.
The Gaga news doesn't really interfere with the dream I had worked out in my head. I always thought it would be a multiple-artist production and that Brian May likely orchestrated it himself. He hand-picked who he wanted and – though it sounds non-traditional – I could totally see them playing for the artists doing the medley.
After all, they don't have a lead singer, so why wouldn't they take the opportunity to play with many amazing artists who are singing their songs as opposed to a random backup band? They would do the songs the justice they deserve – with the help of the vocalists they chose.
Also, if the other scenario I was spinning – there is the medley, then Queen comes out and does a few songs (with a mystery front-person) is there anything to say it can't be more than one front-person? Which almost brings us back to the medley scenario.
I can see why Gaga was mentioned for a couple of reasons:
A. She had no desire to keep it secret
B. She might also be performing her own single and wanted the advance publicity
C. The EMAs were using her name as part of the event PR, so that was a done deal
I still think Adam performing in some capacity with or for Queen is the most likely scenario of what he will be doing.

She won't. Gaga has done many duets with HUGE names in the past couple of years. She is like Adam, in that she comes from a Theatre background, so she understands and appreciates teamwork. IF Adam is involved in the tribute, I definitely believe he will be getting more than a couple of lines, but he will probably be sharing the stage with others. Some fan's expectations have really taken off to a place where they are probably setting themselves up to be majorly disappointed. JMHO, I don't think fans have are "expecting" anything huge. Most of them are just verbalizing daydreams and having fun with it. I highly doubt that they will be disappointed with anythng Adam gets to do unless we are being totally punked and I doubt that because Adam would tell us if he wasn't performing. |
